East Anglian Guinea Pig Rehoming East Anglian Guinea Pig Rescue (EAGPR) rescues, rehabiliates and re-homes guinea pigs across Norfolk, Suffolk and further afield.

Based near Diss / Harleston and happy to help with guineas needing homes We are based in Fressingfield, near Harleston, Diss. We encourage people to 'think rescue' for small pets, as many people do not realise that guinea pig rescues (or rescues for other small animals) even exist. We have re-homed over 300 guinea pigs and the number continues to grow. East Anglian Guinea Pig Rescue is entirely self-funded and rely on donations and fund-raising to continue to help more guinea pigs.

Today we welcomed back Reggie (was Jason) after he lost his cage mate. He already has a home lined up with another piggy adopted from us who has found himself in the same position, hopefully they will appreciate each other’s company

❤️ Herd home needed ❤️

If anyone is looking for a bonded herd, we have a little family of 6 here that would love to stay together. I’d like them to stay as they are and not be mixed in with a larger group.

Obviously they will need a huge space, so I might be asking the impossible, but just in case somebody was looking ….

Message me if suitable and we’ll go from there

🐾💜 Adoption Appeal 💜🐾

We are currently unable to help any more Guinea pigs until some of our adoptable pigs are offered suitable homes. Most of our enquiries are for single pigs to bond, unfortunately we do not have any single pigs for bonding at all. We do however have adoptable pairs, trios and even a herd.

I am up to my eyes in admin so please, if you are wanting to adopt, do fill in the form and send the details and photos as a starting point. If you are waiting and haven’t heard back please pop me a message as comments don’t always get notified.

We also have some elderly (but healthy) pairs of pigs that need experienced adult homes. If you have experience of caring for older piggies and could open your heart to a pair or trio for the remainder of their days, please do enquire, I would love for these precious older ones to enjoy the rest of their days in luxury.

Rehoming criteria http://eastanglianguineapigrescue.blogspot.com/p/guinea-pig-homing-requirements.html

Please note we do not have any baby guinea pigs, only adult / older pigs and none of them are ‘cuddly’. They are used to people but will require homes that have patience and understanding as they are all rescues from various backgrounds.

Thank you for applying to adopt from East Anglian Guinea Pig Rehoming. Please complete this form as fully as possible to support your application and to enable us to match you up with suitable guinea pigs. Please note that this is only an initial application; adoption will not be approved until you....

Thank you so much to the kind angels who recently sent pellets and Readigrass from our wishlist, hugely appreciated! All stocked up for the next couple of weeks.

We are away for the next week and won’t be online at all, sorry to anyone who is kept waiting but we desperately need a break and a week in a field with no wifi is perfect!

I’m back from some time away and working through a backlog of messages, please bear with me.

Although I’ve not been posting much, life here at the rescue is as busy as ever, in fact there’s been a huge influx of surrender requests. We are currently full and operating a waiting list.

A few people have asked what our priority items are so I’ve updated our wishlist as it’s mainly nuggets we need, we source our hay and bedding locally for far cheaper than we can get on Amazon but for nuggets it’s a good option and we are down to our last sack. https://www.amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/ls/3F72W5S5BMIWV?ref_=wl_share

If you’re waiting to hear back from me I am working through requests as fast as I can but to narrow it down - we do not currently have any singles for bonding and already have several single piggies waiting for friends to adopt from us who will take priority.

We are a bit behind on our ‘thank yous’ due to a very difficult past month here with a very poorly young dog and then saying goodbye to our oldest dog 💔

Thank you to the kind people who sent these nuggets, and a bag of Wagg pellets, plus another Wishlist delivery of alfalfa cubes and Readigrass! We also had a lovely big box of Timothy hay a couple of weeks ago which was so fragrant and tasty looking! We really appreciate everyone’s support especially as we haven’t been very active on the page of with fundraising.

We also have three piggy angels that donate monthly by PayPal, you know who you are ❤️❤️❤️ This really does keep as going, thank you always

❤️ Thank You Thank You ❤️

After yesterday’s post about Joseph I’m so happy to report that the vet bill has been covered, due to all of your very kind donations and one special lady who made up the difference from her own vet fund - how amazing, I can’t thank you all enough! I’ll be thanking PayPal donors today but their messaging service is a bit hit and miss, so wanted to post a public thank you as well.

I’ve removed names for privacy but money transferred last night via PayPal to the family.

The remaining piggy is doing well, and will be finding a friend soon.

I’m grateful and humbled as always by everyone’s kindness ❤️

We’ve had some very sad news, and darling Joseph who was dumped in some bushes over Christmas, who had recently been adopted by a wonderful family, sadly went downhill very quickly after moving to his new home and despite their best efforts had to be put to sleep. He was the most trusting pig despite his bad start and I’m heartbroken myself and for his new family who already loved him as their own.

I’ll be doing some fundraising over the next few days to help with the emergency out of hours vet bill, the family are not expecting help but I want to help if we can, they did all they could and had only had him a few days.

Our piggy PayPal is here, put a note to say ‘Joseph’ if you donate and I’ll put it with the other fundraising money to help the family. https://www.paypal.me/EAGPR

Run free sweet boy, I’m sorry you got your chance at a happy ending that wasn’t to be 💔
