I don’t do a lot of personal bird work anymore but this ruffed grouse is an exception. One of my favourite birds, I don’t encounter a lot of them around here and it’s always special if I flush one up or hear them drumming in the spring. Harvested this single bird while camping in northern crown land with a friend last fall. Enjoyed roast grouse over the fire and brought the skin home and put it together. That’s the kind of memories a simple mount can bring.

Finished up this customer barred owl. Found near here as a roadkill, unusual find as this is a species not commonly found in the south of the province.

02/03/2021

Getting some customer projects done in time to start turning my attention to maple syrup season. The customer found this Long-eared Owl as an unfortunate window collision.
