He still retreats back to the bed/corner quickly when pets are done but this is great progress for how spicy we started on intake. Once he puts on a bit of weight and gets the green light, he will be adoptable through and you can meet him here! 🖤

Here are some satisfying clips of continued contact and progress made in the first hour. In the third clip, he's having a hard time resisting rolls and we get a good toe bean stretch. In the last clip, he's very excited to have a plush bed to knead, instead of bush debris and the cold ground.

This first picture really sums up his feelings about being caught and meeting me. I love when these silly little stinkers don't know how good life is about to get.

He spent the first two months of life never touched by a human, so believes I am a predator about to kill him. It is simple biology and instinct for him to act as violently as possible to defend himself to survive.

But at only 8 weeks old, this little jalapeño void doesn't stand a chance staying behind his spicy shield. Turn this hissin spittin kitten into a sweet kitty companion? Challenge accepted! ⚔️

Great work by volunteers Jamie, Kirsten and Pat who responded to a request for assistance for a feral 8 week old kitten, fending for himself at Wascana Lake. They spent several days trying to catch him from inside the thick brush he was sheltering in, successful today with a live trap.

Feral kittens this small are tricky to catch sometimes when their light weight doesn't trigger the live trap door but after a few tries, today was their lucky day! Although kitten doesn't quite see it that way yet...

Arrangements were made prior for me to temperament test a few of their incoming feral kitten intakes so this little man has made his way from the trap to my front door where I can't wait to begin the unlocking! 🫶🏻

Remember the Siamese cat we were trying to vet interest in a short while ago? The kind citizen caring for her noticed she was getting a bit rotund which can only mean one thing for a female stray...

Very lucky for this sweet mama-to-be that the caller opened up her heart and home to give her a safe place to have her babies. Those kittens should be arriving any day now!

Once they are 8 weeks old and mama is spayed, this little family will be adoptable through - a big thank you to them for agreeing to help this lovely kit kat and her munchkins on the way! 🙏🏻❤️
