More of trips weekend! Little girl growing up
Trip grew up a bit this weekend. Popping around some training level questions. I’m so excited about this girls future. We have easily a prelim horse in the making. Who knew this little rescue I intended to use as a recip mare would step up to be such a star 💕💕
Trip got to go on a quick xc trip this week! It’s been such a wet year we’re a bit behind on getting the xc exposure this girl should have, but trip never fails to step to the plate! We had to laugh with her expression after finally figuring out down banks. Trips had a bit of a difficult time understanding the down banks. What most may consider disobedience we really saw a lack of understanding. By breaking it down slowly trip finally figured out how to jump off confidently! Most of our cross country schoolings will be very slow and simple at this stage, aiming to solidify ride ability and develop the horse to look for the next question and understand it.

Trip having a school this week, we typically keep the fences pretty small for the youngsters to focus on the foundations. But we decided we should put them up a little as we prep for her to go meet long time coach Karen O’Connor next weekend at a clinic in Louisiana!
