Just some more walking around the neighborhood with Daisy and rewarding the good. Thankfully her only problem is wanting to eat things off the ground or barking at oncoming dogs, though she is very dog and cat friendly.

More work on heeling with Lexi.
Lexi was a very different dog as a puppy.
She’s very dependent on rewards right now and that is okay while we address her behavioral responses to distractions.
Hopefully I will be able to be able to apply this to leash walking in the future.
This dog absolutely wants to have a job but we need to figure out what. Right now her job is learning to keep focus, work her recall, and let her develop some patience through her new routine.
We’ll see a completely different dog in a few weeks time.

Cookie is learning to heel pretty quickly. I have never walked her on a leash, so what I’m doing is getting her to stay focused on the lure so she will be reliable on leash. This is how I’ve had to work with pullers to avoid any aversion or self harm.
I can’t believe it’s taken all these years for me to figure out how to get her moving but I love every minute of it.
After I finished with her, I worked with her sister…and then when I was packing up Cookie came back out looking to do more.
What a surprise and so enjoyable getting her to come when called too.

Even Saiya agrees it’s not cool to be a barky brat. She love the rewards and went from not coming when called and running away to excited to leash up and follow the lure. She’s even barking less at bikes, other dogs, and the mail carriers. 😂😊
