Training session!
Today instead of me approaching Crème Brûlée, I worked on encouraging him to take the initiative to approach me for some delicious hay! Excuse my exhausted looking self, my vacation is over so I am back to work now and only had maybe 4 hours of sleep after being awake for 24 hours!
I was able to groom Crème Brûlée’s mane today!! He was so patient for me. He still is unsure about having his face touched which we are working on so his forelock will have to wait! I can’t believe he is letting me do so much with him after only having him for a couple days. Working with Crème Brûlée
This is a bit of a longer video. This is a glimpse of the process I use to get him to let me touch him. He has been pretty great at letting me touch both sides of his neck now and withers!
The first touches! I didn’t have anyone to record the first part, but after 40 or so minutes broke into two sessions I was able to touch his shoulder! I worked with him using pressure and release which worked great. I love how laid back he is so far!
Creme Brûlée enjoying his morning breakfast! He was a bit unsure when his muzzle would touch my hands while eating, but he did great!
Here are some videos of loading Creme Brûlée at the BLM event facility and unloading him at home!! He did very well, I think he will be a nice one to tame!
