My first lived to be 16 yrs., and my second only lived 8 yrs. after a short battle with cancer took him. My current companion, Beau, was born Sept. 2011. Where ever I go with Beau, people always stop me to ask what breed of dog he is, or they knew someone who own one when they were a child, or if they currently own an Airedale, they always say that they never see other Airedales! My experience is
the same, when I was a teenager; a friend of my future wife’s family owned two. I fell in love with the breed. In Charlotte, I’ve only personally met three other Airedales. When I asked my vet how many of their clients own them, he said 4. Beau’s groomer has 10 clients and I know of 4 others who have been referred to me but I have yet to meet them. So based on a common desire to meet other Airedale owners, I’ve initiated this page to bring us together… where we can share stories & photos about them and once a month meet up to have play time with our favorite pets. I’m hoping we can grow the club to include Airedale owners outside of the Charlotte metro area, and to rotate our meeting place so others can host a monthly meeting for a change in scenery.
