Mini Schnauzer 🐾 Cooper

This was the first time I ever did a Schnauzer (2023) and I was really happy with the results. Looking back now I see where lot of places where I can improve.
Cooper had lots of little mats and tangles so most of the length needed to be cut and thinned out but I was still able to give him a little bit of a skirt.

"But cats groom themselves.."

Well yes, but SOME cats are overweight and can't clean their back end. Some cats have arthritis have difficulty moving around as they once did. Some cats have GI problems, so when they groom themselves, they throw up or get sick because of all the hair they took in.

I have experience with cats of all temperaments and I can work with it. Just know, it's a different process and I may need owner assistance from time to time.

Tinsley is a Blue Merle girl with amazing fur. Today we did a full groom with a silhouette trim.

A silhouette trim really keeps the length of the fur but just neatens the appearance. Notice the leg fur has been taken in, the belly fur is trimmed to define the body and the chest may even be taken up a little.

Breeds that would do well for a silhouette trim would include (but not limited to) Golden Retriever, Border Collie, German Shepherds and Austailian Shepherd.

Biscuit came to me as I was practicing my grooming skills in a new area. She is just SO CUTE!

First you'll see how she came in, then how fluffy she is after a bath and blow dry, a little trim here and there, then the final product! I could tell she had been groomed before. She was so well-mannered.

Abby has been shaved down before but her fur always grows back in the wildest places! She always gets those "Grinch" feet too.

For her, she just gets a tidy trim. Remove the floof from under her ears, thin and shape her legs and body, ans trim those Grinch toes!
