Thursday 21st December Well storm Pla has been in full force today! 💨 Our crew have certainly been enjoying the scent trails, had the wind up their tails and playfully chasing leaves. 🍁 Today, we sadly say goodbye to Di our team member whom is venturing on new adventures. I would personally like to thank her for all her hard work and input with PATR and I hope you can also join me in wishing her success. Please remember girls and guys to check your fencing before garden visits to ensure all dogs are kept safe. Friday 15th December Today Mandi has flown solo, with only 10 days to Christmas! 🎄 🎅 The start of the day was with Countess Cookie Dough our beautiful Romanian rescue girl whom is in her decompression period and is demonstrating new behaviours which we are helping her with and placing a management plan into place. Izzy our small but mighty pocket rocket had her training walk as we are working on impulse control, threshold manners, loose lead walking with desensitisation to traffic. Our job is fun, it’s wholesome, it’s rewarding, it’s active, healthy and incredibly fulfilling, additionally it’s also hard, it’s tiring, tough on the body, it involves logistical somersaults, vital time keeping, lots of change of clothes, lots of focus, mountains of admin, a lot of driving and is frequently humbling. Another Monday has rolled around already! The team have been greeted with enthusiasm by the entire crew today. With combined calls, we have tackled a lot of ground. Hello December 🎅 It was a cold frosty day for the crew and team today but we had lots of fun some breaking the ice and then having zoomies. 🤣🐕 Plenty of stimulating sniffy walks and admiring the beautiful scenic countryside and watching people putting up their outdoors Christmas decorations. The day was finished off by displaying our Paws Above The Rest Christmas Tree ready for Roxton Christmas Tree Festival this weekend. We love community spirit. Tomorrow is assessment and graduation day for our group training and socialisation classes so watch out for tomorrow’s post. Today in class was pre assessment day before graduation week, next week. In classes we covered various exercises for both classes including basic cues, loose lead walking, recall, stop the dog for an emergency, working on our traffic light system, touch cue and finish cue, swap out of handlers, entry & exits from vehicle with safety measures and a question and answer session. All of our students have done brilliantly and wish them all the best for next week.🚦🚗✋️🦮 Next week will be our last class session, until the New Year where we will be adding additional classes to our services. It's been a blistery Autumnal day. 🍂🍁🌬 The Crew have loved it though. Most have certainly had the wind in their tales. Happy Saturday everyone. Hope you are having a great weekend, so far? Mandi had a great start to her Saturday, this morning. She had her Puppy & Adult dog socialisation and training classes as Roxton Village Hall. The class worked on their basic cues. All the puppies did brilliant with their wait cue. They were also introduced to mirrors and seeing their own reactions. 🪞🐶🥰 In our Adult class, we visited @LittleAcorncafe to introduce the dogs to public environments. We strolled around other guests, to see if any would react. All didn't remarkably. They were also introduced to the bed cue where they sat for a minute. 🦮🛏🏡 All of our student did Mandi proud. They were certainly showing off their hard work which they have all been putting in, at home. It's been a strange day for the PATR team. Full of mixed emotions. The calls have consisted of both pop in's, walks and even dinner visits. We have covered miles of fields, been to parks as well as played in gardens. We have been making some wonderful memories with our crew. 🏞🏠🦮🥎 We have also been thinking about the memories as we have said goodbye to two members of the Crew. Our first member Mooncake joined us for the last walk today, as he will be moving away. We will miss how smart he always looked, with his little bowtie, on every walk and was always a bundle of joy. 🦮🏡 Our second crew member, we lost at the weekend. Fergus crossed the rainbow bridge, leaving behind Ben & Ozzie. He wasn't very old but unfortunately he became quite poorly. Today, we remembered him while out walking with Ben & Ozzie. 🌈🐶😥 Both of our members will be greatly missed and we have cherished our time with them. We continue to build on life skills and foundations in both separate classes, with all students progressing well and shining through. WAR DOG - To the memory of silent footprints that beside us once did fall. We pause but for a moment and in reverence do recall.
