Clever trainers stack the deck in their favour. They give the dog the freedom to make choices, but they narrow the options. I'm reminded of my friend who who each morning lays out two outfits on her young daughter's bed and then asks her whether she wants to wear the pink dress or the yellow one? The girl chooses, but between two acceptable options, rather than from the hundred pieces of clothing in her stuffed wardrobe. Limitless choices are paralysing for dogs and owners. 🐾❤️
