👌🏼Please do your research before committing to a Doberman, because otherwise you’re simply doing them a huge injustice.
This is a working breed, they need a job, they want to please, they want to work!
They need to run, they want to chase, stalk and pursue prey.
Allowing and utilizing their breed specific temperament can lead to a beautiful relationship with you and your family and that shouldn’t be ignored 🙌🏼

Whilst being amazing family dogs still remember why they were bred & how to keep them happy!

The Dobermann, besides being a dog with species specific needs, has also been genetically designed for a job. He is:
Bred to be suspicious (which makes him naturally, highly sensitive & anxious)
Bred to be alert (which makes him fast to arousal)
Bred to bring down man (which makes him prone to mouthing & biting in overarousal & play and also to chase everything that moves)
Bred to watch & guard just one man (which makes him a Velcro, attention seeking shadow, and often aloof with strangers)
Bred to track & hunt (which makes his nose amazing)
Bred for intelligence (which makes him fabulous to train but gives him a brain that needs to be properly employed)
-versus-
Modern Human expectations:
A content pet dog who will largely spend long periods alone, resting, unemployed, mentally unchallenged, definitely not barking, not noticing what’s going on outside, not chasing anything, loves everyone and everything, plays gently & nicely with every dog in the park, hearing but not reacting, programmed to understand that we want all of the above and none of the hardwired, instinctive species & breed specific behaviours!
Doing breed research and having realistic expectations is compulsory!! Training is not optional!

Dear dog owners,

There is no advantage to engaging a service that advertises as "no cages" when it comes to your dog.

"Cage free" grooming or boarding may sound romantic, and absolve you of your guilt for having to confine your dog, but I'll be honest; as a care provider, crates are used to maintain a level of safety for your dog from potential risk of injury or escape.

Although it would be wonderful for every dog to experience a stress-free, enjoyable experience, reality shows many dogs are uncomfortable in certain high-stress situations like grooming, boarding, or vet visits.

You would be surprised how many animals are injured, lost, or killed while in the care of "cage free" care providers.

It only takes once.

Would you really like that 'once' to be your dog?

It's not an advantage or a 'benefit'. Trust me.

Also, if you think these services exonerate you from having to teach your dog to accommodate a crate, it doesn't.

That surgery it needs from having eaten a pair of underwear or your granny's dentures is going to require a vet visit.

Guess what?

The dog will have to be crated.

Guess what else?

Unless you can provide around-the-clock concierge care, your dog will need to be crated during recovery as well.

"Crate Free" is a great marketing tool, but it's such a risky proposition.

It's your dog. It's your choice, but just remember- actions have consequences, and these fly-by-night 'gig' hucksters aren't as skilled, knowledgeable, or prepared as they would have you believe

We currently have a 6 month old female from our last litter 👀 for a new address. Fully house trained, ears standing, crate trained but prefers the couch, fenced yard a must, currently lives with multiples dogs w/o issues. PM for details. Canada & USA only
