The Miniature English Bulldog should not be confused with the English Bulldog mix being called the Miniture Bulldog by some breeders. They are not only small and cute bulldogs, but also more active and healthier than their big brothers. The miniature version of this beloved and historic breed comes as a result of two possibilities. One possible origin is as a hybrid of two different breeds, the ot
her is as a down-sized version of the Bulldog. Many of the smaller versions are the result of cross breeding between the Bulldog and another breed. In many cases, the other breed is a French Bulldog, or a Pug. The miniature may even be a product of a cross between all three breeds, and this makes it a mixed breed dog. A hybrid dog or mixed bred dog, means it is not purebred & they are not a breed recognized by the American Kennel Club (AKC). The disadvantage to this cross breeding is that you will not be able to register your dog with the AKC or any other reputable dog breed registry. You will also have to trust the breeder that you are, indeed, getting a dog from the parentage they claim. The AKC sets the standard for all recognized breeds in the United States and registers purebred puppies from AKC registered parents. This registry ensures that any dog you adopt will be purebred. Reputable breeders will always have their dogs registered with the AKC. The hybrid breeds contributed to the small size of the new breed, but the classic face with wrinkles like that of the original bulldog was lost. So after several generations of this cross breeding, breeders are going back to the original English bulldog to bring back the classic look. They are using selective breeding of small Bulldogs to achieve a smaller size. This is a similar process that yielded many of the small varieties we see today, such as the Toy Poodle or the Miniture Schnauzer. While there are many reputable dog breeders, there are, unfortunately, many disreputable ones as well. Some questionable breeders form their own breed registration organization as a way to appear trustworthy and official. The record keeping of these organizations is often haphazard or even nonexistent. These dubious registrations allow the individuals to sell animals as purebred when actually, they are not. It is important for potential dog owners to do their homework. All reputable breeders will offer references, health certificates and AKC registrations. We have been raising bulldogs for over 13 years, all of our bulldogs are AKC registered which is the oldest and most prestigious kennel club in the United States & they DNA dogs being bred to assure you are getting a purebred unlike other registries which take the breeders word for it. We are liscensed by the state, USDA, & also inspected by AKC. The Miniture English Bulldogs we breed are bred by using selective breeding of smaller bulldogs to aquire the smaller in size bulldog which makes for not only smaller in size, but also they keep thier classic bulldog look so no mixing to get our minis, just small bulldogs. Most of our bulldogs weigh between 35 to 45 lbs. Our bulldogs have AKC multi-champion backgrounds. We offer Akc registration, health certificate, health guarantee, current vaccinations/de-worming prevention, veterinarian exams, microchipping & a medical record for our puppies. Our bulldogs are raised in our home with our family and are given love and socialization. We love & enjoy raising such a wonerful breed of dog & love to see them go to loving homes as they are such a sweet & loving breed of dog, they are very laid back & enjoy human companionship.
