We currently have a Vacancy for a Temporary Part Time Yard Assistant. (16 hours)

Hours to be worked over 4 /5 days (this is negotiable) , with 1 split shift and 1 weekend day.

We are looking for a person who is experienced in Caring for Equines with a Level 2 Qualification in Equine or Animal Care who is looking to gain experience working for a small charity and to assist with day to day running of the yard.

Please note there are 2 sites to cover on a daily basis and so your own transport will be required.

Cornwall Animal Welfare is celebrating our 4th Anniversary of helping to support small independent animal rescues, which are based in the Duchy of Cornwall.
As part of the celebrations, starting this Monday at 10 am., we will be holding a HALF PRICE CLOTHING SALE.
All clothing will be half the marked prices while stock lasts, so come early.

The past 2 days have given some brief respite from horrible rain. The Ponies enjoyed a rare 2 days in a row out from the yard area. The rain is back this evening however but it was good while it lasted. I realised how stressed I had been feeling with it all as there doesn't seem to be enough hours when the ponies are restricted to the yard and it's constant work to muck out and refill nets (plus on occasion bailing out too) and it has taken 48 hours just to get back on top of the list of things to do including admin tasks so apologies if I haven't replied to an email or message as pony care has taken a priority.

Yesterday we received the first lot of donated haylage donated by Tamar Valley Riding Club. Thanks again.

Thanks also to Amy for coming out today to help around the yard and Bex who donated a couple of boxes of items to sell. So busy I forgot to take lots of pictures but here is one of Pickles.

While we are still answering your emails, calls, messages and letters we would like to share with you a quick 👏 AMAZING UPDATE! 👏 Not only did we reach our target we stretched and raised £4117 + gift aid. This is just the best news.

It has been an emotional time we are so overwhelmed by all your support in what has been such a difficult time for us. Small charities know how tough it is when the bank balance shrinks dangerously low and on top of that the weather making it so difficult just to complete daily tasks and keeping animals comfortable. Knowing that we now have funds to provide food for them until the land has chance to recover is just such a relief. !

So Thank You All so very much 🙏

Today we asking for donations of time.
We are in need of some more volunteers to help in our popular shop in Meneage St., Helston.
We need people to cover all aspects of charity shop work.
So if you can spare 3 or more hours a week to help support small independent animal charities throughout Cornwall, then please call in and talk to our manager Lyne, Monday to Thursday 10.30 to 3.30.
