Have you brought home a new pet? Try the 3-3-3 rule!

3 days to decompress. Take things slowly, and let your pet feel out their new living space and established routines. They may sleep/hide as they adjust to their new area.

3 weeks to settle in. This is the time to get to know your pet. Start training and introduce them to friends, family, and other pets.

3 months to feel at home. This is the time to build trust with your new friend. Go on new adventures and explore your life together.

Easter lilies kill kitties!
Please make sure that if you have pets, do not bring lilies into your home. The effects are very severe in cats! The lilies that may live in your home for a week are not worth risking your cat’s life.

To all of the people who want to argue that a Lily didn’t hurt their cat… that’s great for you! But it will kill others’ cats so we want to warn people. Maybe share an adoptable pet instead of arguing about a graphic created to spread awareness of Lily toxicity.

Dijon is a sweet 10 year old Himalayan Flame point who enjoys his nap time and the opportunity to watch the world go by from a comfortable bed or lap. He was extremely matted when he came to us and needed to be shaved, but now that he's more comfortable, he's a quiet, happy boy who loves attention and purrs with one of the loudest motors in the shelter. With his beautiful flame point colors and bright blue eyes, alongside his wonderful personality, it's hard to find a reason not to take this wonderful senior.
