Our Story

In July of 2012, I adopted my first dog from a small family in Houston, TX. Weirdly named Tinkerbell, eight-week-old Pepper came home with me that summer. She was, and continues to be, a handful, but I couldn’t love her more. She’s loyal, needy, playful, lovable, and hairy. She’s been with me through six moves, divorce at a young age, adoptions and integrations of five other pets, heartbreaks, road trips, and hundreds of hours of the mundane. She’s my first child and I will be destroyed when she dies. But she won’t because she’s the first dog to conquer immortality.

Ginger is a massive foster fail! I started volunteering with Dallas non-profit Paws in the City in 2015. In the summer of 2016, I finally decided to take the leap of fostering my first dog. Two weeks later, she was officially mine. When she first came to me fresh off the mean streets of Dallas, she had a double ear infection, skin infection, and did NOT want anything to do with Pepper. Now? Her hairy coat rivals Sasquatch, her demeanor is meek, sweet, and loyal and she’s letting more of her personality shine through every day. It’s seriously amazing watching a dog grow like that!

Stick around. Get to know the pups and maybe you’ll love them just as much as I do.
