The Drum Story
The Drum Flock of pedigree Shetland sheep was started in 1982 with the purchase of two Shetland sheep primarily for spinning of wool. Jacob sheep were also kept and great success was found with them in the Show ring breeding a Highland Show Champion in 1987 Drum Major shown by John Young of Skerrington Mains. Success was followed in the Shetland lines with seven Highland Show Champions, Great Yorkshire Show Champion and numerable Reserve Champions. Showing the Drum Flock sheep is a great shop window for the Flock and also the fabulous wool that Shetlands produce.
