Fostering rescue cats from the pound..
[LOCATED: Mackay, Queensland, Australia.]
After adopting some cats a year earlier whose owner had to surrender them to a friend due to no longer being unable to care for them anymore as she was battling brain cancer and knowing they would be going to the pound if new owners weren’t found for them, we then found it hard to resist the calls for help for other abandoned cats that found themselves on death row at the local pound. So many cats and kittens waiting for their owners or new owners to come for them or at least someone to care for them until new forever homes could be found for them, as they don’t get much time in at the pound. We had rescued other lost cats before, sometimes taking up to two weeks before we could find their owners. Most of the times, these cats were someone’s loved pet, not just some roaming feral. Sometimes owners sad circumstances didn’t allow them to care for their beloved pets anymore.... The abandoned cats just needed to be given a second chance. Plus, it was a loophole the kids and I found around hubby not allowing us to permanently take on anymore animals to join are already crazy menagerie. What an experience it has been! These rescued cats are so appreciative of your love and affection and to finally be in a home and with a family again. They have given us so much, that hubby has been tempted to keep them and re-home our own existing “unappreciative” cats (just a joke), but we could so easily adopt them all and have already adopted a cat from the pound that would have needed rescuing by foster carers. By fostering the other cats in need, we have come across such a wide mix of beautiful personalities....one that just loves to sit next to you where ever you are in the house, one that has to be just on you no matter what, one that is then on the armrest right beside you and the other two at your feet playing and licking each other who only weeks earlier were complete strangers to each other. These cats will make someone such a loving pet and the beauty is, we can already tell you what their personalities are and who they will best suit. Will be sad to see them go, but knowing they are going to their very own forever home with someone that will love them just as much will make it all worthwhile......as they just needed a little more time to be given that second chance.
