It’s a quiet week here this week. Rio (red horse) enjoyed his turn out time this morning before it got too hot, and spud (can you guess his color?) got a little TLC and his first set of braids. All the horses are enjoying a much deserved week off

Week three is complete! We are going to take a break for the week of the 4th and start back up again on July 8th. I think horses and staff are looking forward to sleeping in and getting some much needed rest. As for me I can hopefully get my voice back 😂 we want to wish everyone a happy Fourth of July week and hope everyone has a fun and SAFE holiday!

I LOVE seeing people leave happy! Even tho I am exhausted and feel like I’m half crazy trying to remember everyone’s names, this has been the best experience. I think my most favorite thing is seeing kids show up either tired (morning class) or shy, and leaving excited and smiling ear to ear. Horses are the best creatures to get people out of their shells and out enjoying the day, no matter the circumstances.

Week three has begun!! In the last two days kids have learned how to halter, lead, and tie a horse, they’ve also brushed and saddled their horses. And today everyone graduated from pony rides to riding by themselves! We’ve got tonight’s class coming to learn how to ride by themselves and then two more days packed full of fun

Aside from doing camps and lessons, I do birthday parties as well! This little one was so much fun to see her go from nervous to excited to be on a horse! Her sisters were also naturals and loved every second of it! God has blessed me with good horses and great people. This has been a positive journey for me and I’m so thankful for every review that’s come in. Thank you parents for entrusting me with your kids, and to all my adult riders… you guys have been nothing but a pleasure to have as well. Looking forward to the road ahead!

As we gear up for this coming weeks camp I want to introduce another helper! This is Shea! Shea is the proud owner of Banks the baby horse and has been riding with me for 2 years! I am excited to help her on her journey of horse ownership, and while banks might be a handful, shea is one determined and tough kid. Today I would like to do a thank you post, I want to shout out to Aussie and Linda for opening up the facility to the public and letting me run a business out of it. Aussie, Troy and uncle Dennis (as I know him) all stepped in and made the facility we work out of the way it is today. They made sure to create more pens for the horses with adequate shade and misters, did countless hours of dirt work, lots of paint, as well as additional touches to make it look the way it does today. And all for others to enjoy. So huge thank you to all of you for every part you played into making the home of havasu horseback rides into what it is today. Aussie and Linda also allow us to use their horse, “Rio” in the program. You meet few people that aren’t out to take advantage of you and these people are certainly genuine in every way. Always cheering on others success and helping them grow. Thank you, each and every one of you for building the place up and making it into what it is. You play the largest part in giving us a place to work out of and call home

The week of 6/17 comes to an end as kids finished up with a barrel race competition, cleaning stalls race, and giving the horses a much deserved bath. Some horses even got the unicorn braids 😂 everyone left being able to lead, catch, tie, brush, saddle, and ride horses. They also got extended knowledge of how long horses live for, different types of breeds of horses, learned parts of the horse and saddle, and much more. We are looking forward to getting in our next group of what I’m sure will be awesome kids just like the last two weeks have been. Thank you parents for allowing your kids to come out and play with the horses!

We are wrapping up the last two days with lots of riding and games! Kids have successfully learned how to catch, lead, tie, brush, saddle, and ride horses by themselves! We’ve also learned parts of the saddle, parts of the horse, and have been one quite the expert chicken catchers! Tomorrow is the last day for the week of 6/17 and we have fun competitions for the kids to put their skills to the test!

I haven’t had a chance to take too many pictures this week, but we have 9 kids both morning and evening classes and it has sure been fun! I’m so blessed to have such an awesome group of kids and parents throughout these first two weeks! I cannot say thank you enough for the positive feedback, support, and help everyone has offered. This has been such a fun road to go down and I love that I get to spread my love for horses to kids that were just like me growing up! Our June riding weeks are FULL and I’m in disbelief at how quickly my July classes are filling. Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart for helping make this idea become a reality. I’m excited to keep Havasu horseback rides going strong for future endeavors. Our fall winter and spring season I feel is going to be our best season yet

Let’s do another meet the helpers post! This here is Kailey and Memphis, both have been extremely helpful in holding horses, helping kids line up where they need to be with their horses, helping with games and more! They both love to stay after class and help get the horses ready for the next group of kids. It takes a village and these two help play an important role!

Meet one of our helpers! This is Audrina and she has been riding with me for 2 years. Today was her first time taking Clovis for a spin on the barrels. Audrina has been a big help this week catching horses, helping kids saddle, leading kids the first day horseback and so much more! She enjoys getting to play on the horses after the kids go home. All my volunteers get to ride at the ends of each class as a thank you for helping things run smoothly!

Well it has been a fun 4 days with this group of kids! First weeks morning class went out with a bang with water fights, stall cleaning competitions, a 2 on 2 barrel race, chicken egg hunt, and washing horses! We had so much fun the parents wanted to join in as well! Big thank you to everyone for coming out and making this happen, and a huge thank you to all my lesson girls that helped out with everything! We will end the week with tonight’s class and move on to the next group of kids next week

The kids are LOVING all the animal time! I think the horses dogs and maybe chickens are enjoying the kids too 😉 it’s been a very busy week, kids have learned how to ride by themselves, walk, trot, stop, back up, turn, and play games horseback. Tomorrow is the final day of week one of beat the heat and I’m so thankful for all the parents and kids that have come out to hang with us!

It’s been a busy week! Getting horses ready for the first week of beat the heat horseback riding instruction has had our previous lesson kids learning how to give demonstrations, help out around the place, and get horses worked and ready to go for Monday morning! Glad to have a good group of kids that are excited to help others learn through the summer! Also a big thanks to their parents for letting me borrow them 😂 you guys all have helped make this first kick off season happen! I promise next time I’ll decide to do something like this in the cooler temps 😁 can’t wait to see the very first group bright and early tomorrow!
