In November 1919, President Wilson proclaimed November 11 as the first commemoration of Armistice Day with the following words: “To us in America, the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country’s service and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of the nations…”

We had some fun at group class with red light-green light, Simon says and some very exciting toys. The dogs all did great! Thanks for coming out Millie, Kosmo, Tater, Barley, Gus, Cody, Riley and Charlie

November is Pet Cancer Awareness Month. So many of our dogs and cats will get a cancer diagnosis. Often when that diagnosis comes down it's about finding as much information as you can to help your dog. If you don't know about FETCH a Cure yet, check them out. Personally 4 of my dogs passed because of cancer and it is devastating. That's why Follow Me Dog Training LLC supports Fetch a Cure so much. One annual event we have is teaming up with Intermission Beer Company for our Give Back & Bingo Night - Fetch A Cure. Check out the event page for more details. On top of that Renée has a donation/fundraising event in her personal page and all group class monies will be given to Fetch a Cure for the month of November. How can you help, come to our event, come to group class or donate to Fetch a Cure by dropping off a check or cash with Renée at a class or lesson and it will be put towards our end of month giving.

Charlie and Tater had a meet up today. They are both Havanese. I swear they could both shoot the same big grin at you. Thistle came along as well and was like a little wrecking ball, running around and diving in the leaves.

Meet Charlie! Charlie is a Havanese. He's got a great smile. He's learning how to be a dog... At his house there are a bunch of cool cats so playing with Thistle has been a big change for him. He also is learning with new friends like Winston. They explored a park and worked on new commands. He's pretty awesome and many of you will meet him at group class!

Every dog I meet learns a settling exercise. It makes a huge difference in the dog learning to chill out when the world is going on around them. All I'm looking for is about 20 min of calmness with no touching or talking to the dog. The dog doesn't get a toy or anything to occupy them. The dog is allowed to do whatever is comfortable except chew on me or the leash. So if they fall asleep or watch the world go by, I don't care as long as they are calm. This is a great exercise for dogs of all ages. Start with short times and small distractions and then build bigger.

I do this exercise with Thistle a couple times a day with varying degrees of distractions going on around me. Lucky us, it's been so nice out I can do it outside when the school buses go by or people are walking their dogs. It's not easy for him because he is full of wiggles but he will settle down and chill out. He needs this skill so we can go places and I know he won't be crazy every time something happens around him. And yep, when he's chilled out and done, he gets a belly rub and some cuddles.

Thistle helped me open his box from CanineCeuticals. I had an opportunity to go to a workshop with the creator of the company a couple weeks ago and was blown away by a lot of the information.

I want Thistle to live a long, healthy life and that starts with good food (thank you BJ's Raw Pet Food ) and great supplements from CanineCeuticals.

Congrats to Barley for this incredible fidget spinner balancing act!!!!

Congrats to Barley for knocking the August Challenge out of the park with this fidget spinner balancing act!!!! Well Done!!!

Milo became interested in this Jolly ball while watching Indie play with it. Now he will go out and start playing with it in the hopes that Indie will join him. The ball is bigger than his head and weighs as much as him so he does a good job not getting run over. I can't send him home with it but I'll be sure to let his humans know where to get one! Jolly Pets is the brand, and I love all of their products and many of the dogs that spend time with me do as well.

Heeling two dogs at once should be an easy task if they both know where they are supposed to be. Inde had previously learned to heel on the left but her owner requested that she walk well on the right. So we gave it a different name and now both dogs can go for a long walk with me at the same time.

Confidence building comes in all shapes and sizes. These hay bales smelled funky and there were a ton of dog, other animal and weird distractions. Annie was a champ, even throwing me a smile before hopping on a bale.

Sunny gave me a full hug when he saw me and man is there nothing better then a dog burying their head and neck into your shoulder with soft sniffles of love. Thanks Sunny it made my day.
