Spring Hill Woman Arrested for Stabbing Boyfriend’s Dog – 2024-00320278
Date: December 30, 2024
On 12-29-2024 at approximately 10:42 a.m., the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Operations Center received a 9-1-1 call reporting that a woman was repeatedly stabbing her live-in boyfriend’s dog inside the home.
Deputies responded to 180 Rusk Circle in Spring Hill, where witnesses advised the suspect, Megan Lynn Mileskiewicz DOB/03-11-2001, had recently fled out the backdoor of the residence.
Deputies quickly located Mileskiewicz hiding behind a tool shed in the backyard, face down on the ground surrounded by shrubbery. When Mileskiewicz refused to comply with verbal commands to crawl out of the bushes, deputies physically removed her from her hiding spot and took her into custody.
Deputies noted the dog, a 2-year-old pit bull, sustained two lacerations, approximately 2 to 3 inches long near his backside. The injuries were not life-threatening, but the wounds were actively bleeding.
A witness advised Mileskiewicz, without warning, became angry at the dog, armed herself with a pocketknife, and began attempting to stab the dog.
Upon seeing Mileskiewicz repeatedly stab at the dog, the witness called 9-1-1.
Post Miranda, Mileskiewicz said the dog was “bothering” her and she became upset and “Made a mistake.”
Mileskiewicz was arrested on charges of Animal Cruelty and Resisting an Officer without Violence. She was transported to the Hernando County Detention Center where her bond was set at $3,500.
