Happy New Year to all you and your lovely hounds. Unfortunately Mr. JG hasn't been well so we're taking a little break from home boarding in 2023. We're missing having our greyhound guests and hopefully some level of normal service will resume later in the year. Give your doggos a hug from me and Mr. JG💕

The beautiful Winnie has been with us for her holidays and I think the photos speak for themselves 😍. Tried out every bed in the house including the human ones. 😆 She's been the perfect house guest and Mr. JG said she so pretty she's just like a giant Swan. 🦢. We are so fortunate we have some lovely shady places nearby for our early morning walks. 🐾.

Do you know a fabulous Greyhound? We need your help to spread the word among Greyhound owners to let them know that their dogs could be lifesavers. These lovely dogs are more likely to have the rarer negative blood type, a blood type we really need more donors with due to it being in such high demand 🩸

We have a short list of breeds that we know are more likely to have this vital blood type and will be focusing on one each month to raise awareness. Any support you can give us is so much appreciated.

We had Luke and Juno for their holidays and such adventures! Visited Grandma JG on Mr JG's birthday which fell during Jubilee weekend and won most Handsome boy in the local dog show 🥇and third in best family with Juno, Chase and Dandy ❤️, had zoomies in an offlead paddock, and closer to home, Juno enjoyed doing whirling dervish imitations while paddling in the river 😆. They both kept us thoroughly entertained during their 12 day stay 😍

So much fun with the "cheeky girls" last week. We enjoyed having Roo and Luna come to stay and felt very safe with Roo helping Dandy keep guard in the garden against those pesky pigeons and squirrels 🤣. Luna took a real shine to Mr JG 🥰 We all enjoyed our daytrip to walk near the River Arrow with a stop at Studley Castle for a drink -highly recommended- we saw a sparrow hawk and buzzard and fortunately the dogs didn't spot the hare and the muntjac deer . 😳

Mixed and (carefully) Matched.

It's been a full house chez JG with Sam coming to stay for a few days, Tom for one night, Dan for his usual daycare, and Roo and Luna arriving for their long weekend . The dogs love all the houndie company. Rest assured though, with dogs from different households we only match dogs we already know and assess that they will get along and of course, carefully supervise.

Sam has come such along way from being a nervous, shy boy when he was first adopted, to a happy, cheeky, super friendly boy he is to today. He is a credit to his owners who have helped him blossom.

Tom is one of our regulars and he is so sweet and gives the best kisses, though Roo and Luna kisses are pretty special too.

Dan, bless him, is so easy going ,he gets on with whoever is here when he comes - the very definition of the laid back greyhound.

Couldn't do it without the help of Mr. JG and of course, Chase and Dandy being so tolerant in sharing their home and hoo-parents.

Love my job ❤️

We've had a celebrity come to stay this week! Magic is the dog on the Burgess Greyhound And Lurcher Mix bag. She hasn't let fame go to her head, however, as she has been the perfect house guest. She just slotted right in and took quite a shine to daycare Dan but don't tell her usual boyfriend Zany 🤫. She was a real pleasure to look after. 🥰

Lottie, Dan and my two exploring on the banks of the River Cole. Carpet of wild garlic everywhere this year. So lucky to have so many lovely walks on our doorstep while living in a city.

The lovely Lottie is back with us and found her usual favourite spot...shortly to be joined by regular Dan and later this week, Magic for her first stay. She's enjoying her greyhound pals.

Congratulations to Mike and Lyndsay Webber on their wedding today. Monty and Gretel made an appearance for the photoshoot. Monty looked very dapper in his bow tie and Gretel with flowers on her collar. Lyndsay and Mike looked fabulous in their wedding finery. A lovely afternoon. It was a pleasure to bring their dogs along to share their special day.

Daycare Pals - Chase's best friend Dan came for his regular daycare session yesterday. A real bromance ❤. And Dandy provided a welcome chin rest for Sam, on Tuesday - after all your head gets heavy waiting to go for a walk 😆.

The bank holiday weather may have been dull but there was never a dull moment with Max in the house. Fun-loving, nosy, affectionate 😍 and full of beans, he decided he quite liked the crate as a his den (door always open). He was very "helpful" with the gardening 😆 in between zoomies with Dandy, scentwork to seek the treats👃 and lovely walks through the wild garlic and having a splash in the River Cole

Busy time of year so apologies for getting behind in posting all the gorgeous greys who have come to stay recently. With Clementine and Frisbee with us for two weeks over Easter while their owners celebrated a special birthday at Disneyworld in Florida, there were plenty of laughs - chalk and cheese but both characters in their own way.

Clemmie and our dog Dandy made a good tag team with Clem taking the toys and shoes outside and Dandy bringing them back in. Lots of lovely walks and meeting up with friends at Waseley Hills. I think they were glad to get home for a rest.
