This horse has been dealing with cellulitis and proud flesh since about September.

We did two and a half weeks appart of Pulsing and massage.

These photos are the before and after the second session, only 24 hours appart between photos (!!!)

Vet visits, medication, daily cleaning, PEMF, and massage. They all go hand in hand!

His owner works tirelessly to ensure he is well taken care of and it shows! ♥️

PEMF contraindications for animals. In other words, when you should avoid booking a PEMF session!

Reasons why/ How long to wait:

1. Pregnancy: not enough research has been done so it’s best to avoid.
2. Active bleeding: PEMF increases circulation so it is best to wait till there is no more active bleeding (this includes active ulcers).
3. Implanted electronic or magnetic devices: PEMF can mess with the devices so it’s best to avoid.
4, 5 & 6: Injections, vaccines, deworming and surgery: Best to wait 7 days.

When in doubt, chat with your vet!

Ok, but why? 👇🏻

1. Find a space with less movement and noise so they can focus on what I am doing and how they are feeling.
2. Most horses have a steady routine and get very upset when they don’t get to participate in those activities. This is not only incredibly distracting for them but can be dangerous for me because the horse is only focusing on getting fed/turnout.
3. Making sure your horse is dry and clean prior to the beginning of the session keeps me on time, my equipment and I clean, and helps to not irritate your horse’s skin from rubbing the dirt in.
4. I know, your horse is literally the cutest thing ever. 🥰 But please try to refrain from interacting with your horse so they can focus on me and how they feel in their body during the session.
5. This one is for me!🙋🏻‍♀️ I’m not great at multitasking and I want to make sure I give my undivided attention to your horse because they deserve it.

Every single one of us has made mistakes when it comes to horses. Whether those errors came from a lack of knowledge, a short temper, or being taught a certain way, we’ve all done things with our horses that we wish we hadn’t.
Maybe you’ve even made mistakes you avoid thinking about because you’re riddled with shame and guilt… I just wanted to tell you that it’s time to forgive yourself.

I get it. Sometimes standing up for our horses means potentially creating an uncomfortable situation, but we owe it to them.

I too have felt “less than” when it came to standing up for horses under my care… It’s not easy, but sometimes it’s necessary.

Surround yourself with people who will support you in making the right calls for your equine partner & trust your gut! 🧡

Though it’s ideal for our horses to eat from the ground (in most cases), it’s not always a possibility. If you do need a hay net, try a low hanging one to avoid accumulating tension!

Je suis propriétaire de JJ depuis maintenant deux mois. JJ est un cheval avec beaucoup d’école et d’entraînement. Il est généralement plaisant à monter. Son plus gros défaut est que JJ « buck » souvent au galop (surtout dans le patron de baril). Dans le dernier moi, JJ n’était plus du tout plaisant à monter, au point ou je l’ai monté seulement que 3-4 fois dans le mois, car je n’avais aucun plaisir. Il « buckait » de plus en plus, que ce soit en manège et/ou en rando, au trot et galop, et à quelques reprises au pas.

JJ a reçu un traitement de massothérapie avec Henlea Equine Wellness, et c’est maintenant un nouveau cheval. J’ai retrouvé plaisir et motivation à le monter. Ça fait maintenant deux semaines qu’il a eu son traitement, et wow, aucun « buck ». J’ai fait du manège, des barils, du galop en randonné (ce que je n’avais jamais voulu faire auparavant), etc. Le conjoint d’une amie l’a également monté, fait des barils (même s’il ne savait pas trop ce qu’il faisait), et JJ a été fin comme tout.

Un énorme merci à Émilie, qui a fait que j’ai retrouvé plaisir à monter mon cheval!

Two months ago, I became JJ’s owner. JJ is super well trained horse. He is normally nice to ride. His biggest flaw is that he often bucks at a lope (even more in the barrels pattern). I haven’t enjoyed riding him at all over the last month, to the point where I might have ridden him 3-4 times. His bucking was getting worse and worse both while working in the ring or on the trail.

JJ got a massage treatment from Henlea Equine Wellness, and he is now a totally different horse. I now have motivation and fun riding him. It’s been two weeks now, and no more bucking. I worked him in the ring, did barrels, went on a trail and galloped (I never thought I’d do that), etc. Even my friend’s partner rode him, did barrels (even though he didn’t really know what he was doing), but JJ was so nice with him.

Thanks to Émilie, I now have fun with my horse again!

All of the inconsistencies or problems encountered with a contact, are all related to this very complex array of relationships between the tongue, hyoid and associated muscles.

Horses chew in a figure 8 motion and as grazers, they are meant to be eating the majority of the day. This is a tremendous amount of strain on the TMJ so it’s a great thing the joints are covered in fibrocartilage! Fibrocartilage contains both Collagen type I and type II, it is much stronger than hyaline cartilage.
