Steve Foster was born and raised in the Overbrook section of West Philadelphia. Steve earned a Degree in Turf Management from Rutgers University in 1990. Steve went on to a career as the head golf course superintendent at Walnut Lane Golf Course from 1990-1994. From 1994 to the present, Steve has worked for the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission as a landscape specialist where he designs
landscapes for the turnpike and oversees all installations. In 2007, Steve decided to put an idea he had into motion after continuously seeing two dogs being walked on 2 separate leashes and all the problems that came with it. Steve came up with the design in his garage by drilling a hole through a golf ball and inserting a small metal rod that would act as the
handle, glued a shoelace on equal sides of the golf ball and began to braid the laces. With one person holding the handle, Steve simulated the tension of the pulling dogs and the shoelace easily unbraided and his idea came to life. With some minor adjustments and the use of technology the Buddy Walker was born to relieve the stress and tangles that come along with walking both of your dogs at the same time.
