So sad seeing dogs being walked in this heat every summer dogs die of heat stroke. even early morning can be warm so check before you walk try

As temperatures increase here's a really useful reminder of the dangers of heat stroke in dogs!

✅ Some top tips for minimising the dangers include:

🌠 Walking your dog during cooler parts of the day (early morning / late evening)
🚰 Always having fresh water available
⛱️ Providing plenty of access to shade

❌ What to avoid:

🚗 Never leave your dog in a parked car
🔥 Avoid walking your dog on hot pavements, their paws can easily burn
🔆 Keep your dog out of direct sunlight

A reminder a dog never died from missing a walk but many have died from heat stroke from being walked in the heat

Remember - Do not walk your dog in this heat. Only early morning or late evening. If you walked on the sand or pavement without shoes it would burn your feet, IT'S BURNS THEIR FEET TOO.

On behalf of the Association we would like to send our condolences to the family and Friends of Yvonne Catto who passed away suddenly today. Yvonne dedicated her life to cairns her great dogs appear in pedigrees around the world. Rest in peace Yvonne

Calling all Cairn lovers.

We need your help to help our fellow cairn lovers and breeders in the Ukraine.

The Cairn Terrier Association of Ireland decided to start a fund through our club to send money to the cairn owners/breeders in the Ukraine. The Canadian Cairn terrier club is also joining with us on this initiative other clubs are welcome to join us.

We are constantly in contact with 3 people we know in the Ukraine

Some are fleeing their country with their dogs leaving everything they own behind. When they leave they leave with very little as they are on public transport so they only have the clothes they have on as their priority is getting their dogs to safety and ensuring they have food for the journey that can take 3 days. We thought it would be nice if the cairn people worldwide helped them.

We are looking at people donating the price of a cup of coffee a month this would help in some small way to elevate the suffering that they are going through.

Can you forgo one cup of coffee a month and donate 5 euro to help our other Best little Pals
