This is a courtesy post for Chihuahua Rescue & Transport. Please "share" this post and let's work together to find this girl a forever home.
Meet one CRT's newest fosters – Biscuit. Biscuit is an adorable Chiweenie who has a sweet personality.
Biscuit was found as a stray in the Harlingen TX (south Texas) area. She did not have a collar nor a microchip. Some Good Samaritans in Harlingen kept her safe as they looked for an owner. When no owner stepped forward, they reached out to CRT to see if we could bring her into our program. We said “yes” and Biscuit was transported on an 8 hour transport from the Texas border to the Dallas area. She has been a delight in her foster homes.
Biscuit enjoys playing with the other small dogs in her foster home. She’s frisky and playful in the morning and excited to see her humans when they return home from being away. She enjoys running and tumbling with the other small dogs in her foster home. She also loves going out into the backyard and doing zoomies in the yard. Biscuit will also stalk birds in the backyard (we do not think she would be good with cats).
Biscuit loves toys of all kinds. She enjoys playing tug-of-war. She also loves for you to throw a ball so she can chase it and bring it to you for another round. Biscuit has an adorable habit of cleaning out the toy box every day. She will climb up and down the stairs and leave a toy on each stair. It is as if she is playing her own version of Hansel and Gretel but leaving toys (instead of breadcrumbs) to find her way back to her dog bed! She loves the soft fluffy toys too but tends to “destuff” them fairly quickly.
Biscuit is a little shy when she first meets you. But as soon as she knows she is safe, she quickly warms up and becomes your best friend. She is a huge lap dog and loves to snuggle with her family. She will roll over for belly rubs. Biscuit loves attention and cuddling. She is well behaved and wants to fit in and please her family. Biscuit is very smart and we are beginning to work on commands with her. She already knows “sit”.
Biscuit is potty trained and has not had any accidents in her foster home. She is crate trained and will sleep in her doggy bed inside her crate at night. Biscuit wants you to know that she would love to sleep in the bed with her forever family. If you need a cuddle buddy at night, Biscuit wants to volunteer for the job! Biscuit also is comfortable on a harness and leash.
Biscuit is about 2 years old. She weighs about 12.5 pounds. Biscuit is a Chiweenie (1/2 Chihuahua and 1/2 Dachshund). She has a white coat with tan highlights. She has a long body and long legs. She is super athletic. She can jump and it is easy for her to move up onto your couch, etc. We love her one ear up and one ear down look.
The ideal family for Biscuit would be a laid-back home with high to moderate activity. She would love to have a backyard to play in! We believe Biscuit needs another small dog to play with (without another dog, she would get bored too easily and may get into mischief). Biscuit does bark when she hears strange noises but settles down quickly. She is startled by fast movements, so we recommend either an all adult home or a home with older children (14 and older).
Biscuit is being fostered in the Dallas, Texas area. If she sounds like the new best friend you’ve been looking for, please fill out an application! Our CRT adoption form can be found at: http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/
