Beartooth Humane Alliance BHA was founded in 2006, and since then, hundreds of dogs, cats, puppies and kittens (and even a few horses) have found forever homes through our efforts.

BHA assists the people and animals of Carbon/Stillwater Counties, MT, by helping companion animals in need, promoting responsible animal care through education, providing solutions to dog and cat overpopulation, and serving as an animal welfare resource. BHA has helped to reunite hundreds of lost pets with their families, taught many local schoolchildren lessons of kindness and compassion, and helped to spay and neuter thousands of animals.

PLEA FOR PUPPIES:

💔🐾 It’s hard to believe these three precious puppies are still waiting for homes of their own. Ari, Princess, and Ollie have already come so far — growing, learning, and pouring their little hearts into every cuddle and wag. Their foster families adore them, but what they truly need is a forever family. Could it be yours?
💙 OLLIE
This little boy just wants to belong. Ollie is happiest pressed right up against you—your loyal shadow, your snuggle bug, your best friend. He has puppy sparkle in his eyes, playful zoomies in his paws, and the kind of love that makes every day brighter.
👑 PRINCESS
Princess’s story is one of courage. She overcame a broken leg with grace, leaving her with an endearing little bow that makes her even more special. Despite her rocky start, she greets the world with joy—wagging her tail, mastering her training, and showering love on dogs, cats, and people alike. Princess is proof that resilience and love can heal anything.
🌸 ARI
Ari is the whole package wrapped up in a soft, snuggly bundle. She’s bright and eager to please—already sleeping through the night, coming when called, and learning her name with pride. But what makes her shine most is her gentle spirit. After a day of toys and puppy adventures, Ari melts into your arms for the sweetest cuddles, as if to say, “I’m ready to be yours.”
✨ These three deserve more than just foster homes—they deserve families to grow up with, safe laps to curl into, and hearts to call their own. If you’ve been waiting for a sign, this is it. Open your home, and they’ll open their hearts to you forever.
Applying is easy—just fill out the form at www.beartoothhumane.org/adopt, hit submit, and we’ll be in touch. 💌. Here is the online application:

The bin is inside the wood fence directly across from the entrance to BareTooth Cupboards. If it's easier, you can also donate online through Chewy. Montana made the list! Although BHA does not operate a brick-and-mortar shelter, we adhere to the same practices as no-kill shelters. To qualify as a no-kill shelter an animal rescue has to have a save rate of at least 90% of all animals that come into their care. According to Best Friends Animal Society, no-kill means healing the animals who can be healed, treating behaviors that can be treated, and prioritizing the safety of both pets and people. When we value those objectives, humane euthanasia is used as a last resort in instances when an animal is deemed too ill or too dangerous for rehabilitation.

All across the country, Governors have been stepping up and issuing no-kill proclamations for their states! 🎉

Why is this exciting? These efforts underline the states' commitment to ending the unnecessary killing of dogs and cats in shelters, while encouraging people to take action themselves by adopting or fostering.

So far 20 states have issued proclamations, pushing us one step closer to a no-kill country. Is your state one? 👇
