Emncee Retrievers EMNCEE Retrievers specializes in starting and developing young retrievers in the field. Clint’s goal is to produce a dog that is a joy to watch work.
(1)

Clint has been training retrievers since the early 1980’s as an amateur after having competed in conformation and obedience since the late 1970’s. While interested primarily in the AKC Hunt Test program he has also participated in AKC Field Trials, UKC Hunt Tests and the Super Retriever Series. Clint has trained many different breeds including Golden Retrievers, Flat Coats, Curly Coats, Labradors,

Boykin Spaniels, Wired Hair Pointing Griffons and Field Pointers. Clint is also a licensed AKC Hunt Test Judge and has achieved Triple 8 Point Judge status. Clint went to Pro Trainer status after retiring from air traffic control in 2009. Clint trained his first Master Hunter, “Windy”, a Flat Coat Retriever, in the late 80’s. Since then he has achieved numerous Master Hunter, Senior and Junior titles on various breeds. Clint’s specialty is starting young dogs and teaching them the critical foundation work, i.e., force fetch, obedience, developing outstanding line manners, etc. These are the critical steps that must be done for the dog to make effective use of his marking skills and demonstrate great control on blinds – all while maintaining an upbeat, positive attitude. He focuses on getting as much performance out of each specific dog to bring out the most that that particular dog can give, while maintaining the dog’s positive attitude and great work ethic. During his career he has developed his training program utilizing successful techniques and methods he has learned from working with some of the top retriever trainers such as Mike Lardy, Dave Rorem, Pat Burns, Bill Hillman, Andy Attar, Jim Dobbs, Dan Devos, Dennis Voight and others. He has taken the best of all to develop his successful program, turning out numerous outstanding working dogs. Clint has recently relocated from his 40-acre training facility in Tennessee and is now located in North East Georgia. Currently Clint is only taking on a small number of dogs, which allows him to focus specifically on each individual animal’s strengths and weaknesses so that they can progress more rapidly and with better results. The duration of training needed per each animal varies greatly between breeds and between individual dogs. The main focus is to take your dog as far as you would like to go with him/her, with the only limiting factor being the actual talent the dog possesses.

One last blast from the past for today!!! This is Bristol, who was a Master Hunter. She taught me a great deal about teaching technical water work. She had an amazing litter by Grady that produced some very nice puppies. The sign she is sitting under was the original sign at our pond. The pond was renamed, “Riann Shores”.
