The larve of these Flies also affect humans pets. The fly will lay their eggs near any wound including very small cuts. Unlike mist fly larve these eat live flesh. The comments on the post are more informative than the article itself.

Rocky went home yesterday. He worked very well for his owners.
When he came he was worried about getting into their truck because he did not know how. Leaving he knew what to do and knew he could do it,so he jumped right in. Good boy, Rocky.

As usual, I forgot to get videos or pictures, so I used a picture of him and Bruno for tax.

I got a pleasant surprise today from Rocky.
I took Rocky to Tractor Supply today. Being that he can get very over stimulated around new people and strange sounds, I was not sure if we were going to be actually working in the store or just be able to work outside. Well when he first stepped out of the van he started to Amp up but after a couple right of right circles paired with a couple of light corrections, he settled right down and we walked right into the store. He acted like a mature dog with lots more training than he actually has. There were a couple times he started to get over excited when people got close but it was not hard to get him settled with no explosion. There were even 2 young girls and a Dachshund who walked by him and all he did was look.
Overall, I was very proud of Rocky today.

Yes, there were chicks in the pen behind him, he never even looked at them.

🚨 K-9 HONDO UPDATE 🚨

The Palestine Police Department is providing an update on our search for K-9 Hondo — he is still missing.

Hondo was last seen the night of Sunday, August 3, 2025, in the area of Ft Houston Drive and Shadow Wood Drive. Since then, we have followed up on multiple reported sightings, but none have led to his safe return.

Hondo is microchipped and is not wearing a collar.

Rocky has had a bit of a problem figuring how to get in and out of vehicles.
The first time I asked him to get in the van he tried but hesitated. I gave him encouragement to get in. Once he had been in, he had no hesitation about getting in but still did not know how to place his feet to get in easily. After about 4 times of getting in and out, he had the figured out how to place his feet and was going in and out like and old pro.

I have worked Rocky with upto 5 cats loose but this is the first time I have worked him with the hoard loose. He did great under extreme distractions.
In the first picture it looks he is thinking, 'You're kidding, right?'
