Adoption page for Pet Parrots in the GTA This page provides information about birds who are available for adoption from different sources in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area). We do NOT promote breeding.

The Adoption page for Pet Parrots in the Greater Toronto Area has been put together to help rehome parrots in need. This page is to help people connect and promote adoptions for parrots looking for permanent homes. It is YOUR responsibility to ensure that you ask appropriate questions before placing your bird(s) with someone. We are not responsible for any individuals.

Senegal for adoption:
Skye is 27 years old (quite possibly male). Skye lived with one family for a long period of time and was rehomed over a year ago due to changes in the family. One of the reasons for rehoming was his repetitive calling when he spent long periods of time in his cage.

Skye is overall a very affectionate and tame bird who loves to sit on his current guardian's shoulder, explore his surroundings, gives kisses, and enjoys having his neck massaged.

Skye has learned biting behaviour unfortunately. He goes after containers/ jars/ lids of these containers etc. He can be very quick and gets triggered if you are reaching out to grab something. He can bite your fingers while trying to get to the container. He has tried to bite the small dog at home. He cannot be around young children due to this behavior. He seems to trust women more than men (his previous guardian was a male who had passed away before he was rehomed).

Skye has been with other birds (budgies and lovebirds) and was forming a bond with one of the lovebirds that was being fostered before the lovebirds went to a forever home.

Skye is looking for someone who has experience with parrots and can work with his biting behaviour. He cannot be kept in a cage all day as he is very inquisitive and a sweetie pie most of the time. He will be rehomed with his cage.

There is an adoption fee. An adoption application will need to be completed. Skye is located in Toronto, Ontario.

Two females are available for adoption. They are 4 years old.
Males and Females can be adopted separately to avoid breeding. They are not bonded. They will come with their cages.

Update: Tuti has been adopted!

Private adoption:
Tuti has not been DNA sexed but is presumed to be a male. He has been in his current home for three years now. His age is unknown. Tuti loves apples, grapes, carrots, pomegranate, spaghetti, and rice. He loves attention and is looking for a home with other birds. As all conures, Tuti can be loud.
There is an adoption fee for Tuti.

A home has been found!

These two conures are almost 10 months old. They are very cute, beautiful, and loving. Unfortunately, they are not receiving enough attention in their current home due to busy schedules and are looking for a loving family where they can get a lot more attention and love. They will need to be adopted together as they are bonded. They will be adopted with their cage, toys, and food.
There is an adoption fee.

Private adoption: Lovebirds
Pongo and Peaches are two lovebirds who are roughly one year old. Peaches is a female and Pongo is a male. Pongo cannot fly due to an accident in a previous home. Pongo also suffers from plucking. Both birds are generally in good health. We are looking to rehome our lovebirds to someone who can devote more time to them as Pongo is completely reliant on you. Previous experience with birds is necessary due to the care required for Pongo. They will not come with a cage.
There is an adoption fee. They will not be adopted into a home with dogs and cats due to their safety.

Baby has found a home!!

Private adoption:

Baby is looking to join a flock. She is a DNA sexed female. She is 6 months old, and she seems quite restless being alone. She would benefit from being with another single bird or in a home with other birds. She has been in her current home for about a month and so far she gets along with men/women/kids.
A conure experienced home is preferred. She will not come with a cage.
There is an adoption fee.
She is located near Toronto, Ontario.

Natalie is a green cheek conure. Gender is not confirmed. She was adopted from a shelter over five years ago. Her exact age is unknown. Natalie is a sweet girl. She can be quite noisy and not suitable if you live in an apartment setting. She has lived with 2 chihuahuas without any problem. I'm hoping to find a loving and experienced bird owner who appreciates Natalie's colorful personality. She is an attention seeker and will vocalize to get your attention if she feels neglected. Currently, she is molting, so her beautiful tail feathers are regrowing.

Rico is a male 7 year old Double Yellow Headed Amazon. Rico loves women but he does warm up to men over time. He currently lives with a dog and a cat and is used to being around them. Rico likes to sing and spend time with his person. He is used to living with his cage door open and has a whole room to himself. He can be loud. He will be adopted with his cage.

He is looking for a home with large bird experience. Amazons can be loud, hormonal, and destructive. He is located in Oakville, Ontario.

Smokey is almost 7 years old. He was born in 2017. DNA sexed male. He is used to being with one person, he may have preference for a male parront. He has been around a cat and a dog. He is not used to being around too many people. Younger kids have visited the current home without any issues. He likes to hang around with his parront but is not fond of being touched. He is used to being out of his cage most of the day. Someone working from home will be a good match for Smokey. He likes to chew and goes through a lot of toys. He will come with his cage.

There is an adoption fee. Large bird experience is a must. African greys can be loud so he cannot live in an apartment setting.
