Hopeful Tails is a non-profit animal rescue, lead by Gerry Tartaglione, who has saved and well placed thousands of dogs and cats over the course of 30 years, including the displaced dogs of Hurricaine Katrina and many other national disasters. We rescue animals locally, as well as transporting them from all throughout the South, including the Mexican border, and both the Indiana and Amish puppy mi

lls. Every dog is assessed, and all their needs are met. We provide the comfort, health, security and safety, including foster care, when necessary, training, when possible, and lots of TLC. We have a 100% excellent adoption rate, and each adoption is thoroughly screened with the knowledge that the rescue adopted may be returned to Hopeful Tails, if that becomes necessary. Gerry's uncanny ability to match the right rescue with the right family has many of our adoptive families returning many times over the years, and frequently adopting more than one of our rescues. Through our FB community, we have been able to increase the numbers of animals we rescue, as the awareness of and knowledge of our integrity in responsible rescue grows. It is our goal to save as many helpless and hopeless animals as we responsibly can, place them well, and increase our ability to create many more Hopful Tails!

We are hoping to have Buddy in his very own home for the holidays. Buddy is a 2 year old male Boxer. He is neutered and up to date on all shots. He is loving and the sweetest dog ever. He is fully house trained but will need help to learn not to pull on a leash. He is with several other dogs but would do best with a medium to large dog due to his goofy self. As time passes the reality of a forever family seems further and further away for this humble hound.

Dragonfly is a 5 year old hound turned into the shelter after she could no longer be used for hunting purposes. Ironically Dragonfly is the sweetest, daintiest and gentlest hound you will ever meet. She loves anyone and everyone. While she is a bit older she still loves to play with her canine friends. Dragonfly has a healthy respect for her kitty friends as well. This girl has a weakness for comfy couches, roomy recliners, and cozy blankets. She has adapted wonderfully to being an inside pet and part of her foster family. This girl doesn’t need an excessive exercise routine, but does enjoy being included in social activities with friends and family. Sadie is the sweetest girl that loves to play frisbee, go on walks and play with her toys! She is 5 years old and has the energy of a puppy but will also snuggle up with you any chance she can get! Sadie loves to be outside, going on hikes and ready to be your adventure buddy! She is completely potty trained and up to date with all of her vaccinations. Her coat is awesome because she does not require the groomer like most dogs and a simple bath at home will do! Sadie is also spayed. Sadie is looking for a home with no pets or children.
