UPDATE: Fenny has been placed in his new home. Thanks for all the support and outreach.

We are currently fostering Fenny. Please if you or anyone you know if interested. Please pm me or . He is free to a good home that fits him and his needs. And vis versa. We are located just outside of Worley Idaho.
He's been with us since Sunday night. He is adjusting slowly, he and Rhea had a rough start but are getting along. But it's new and different for both of them. So, there's been a few skirmishes we had to work out. But he's doing better every day, he listens well. He wants to please, and is very submissive to people.
He likes to play with Rhea but doesn't know any boundaries yet and they haven't been together long. He knows commands just needs some more time spent to resolidify his training and learn new commands but he's very intelligent and eager to please.
He comes with an extra large crate, a no slobber water bowl, dog dishes and leash.

😔 2 year old make newf that needs to be re-homed due to the family falling on hard times. He is located in the Boise, Idaho area currently but his owner is willing to meet part way or locally.

He is used to acreage, has been around other dogs, is not a fan of cats, farm animal exposure when he was little but very little since. It is unknown what he will do around chickens and other livestock. He is sweet and has a some training ( though he's forgotten some, like how to feel on a leash.😏 The owner Beth is working with him on re-learning his manners.)
Beth says he’s is very rambunctious, and I have been advised he would do better in a house with older kids just because he could knock little ones over.(hasn't figured out how big he is yet.) 😊

Fenny was born in 2021 is registered, neutered, and up to date with his care. Please dm if you or someone you know are interested, or have any further questions.

Update: I'm no longer fuming. We had a rooster distract Rhea away from the other. He's missing some feathers. Some other girls lost some feathers as well... but! They are all alive - no casualties. So blessed it turned out this way.

I am so upset, I have to vent on here, and hopefully come up with a solution.

I don't know how, but she managed to get out of the house today while I was at work and my husband has been sick. And even though she just had surgery on her eyes and spay a week ago. She went straight for my chickens. 🤬
I am sooooooo Angry right now, I'm shaking.

I've had dogs for a while- I've had ones that are great with animals and others not so great that I made contingencies for. But I do not know what to do.

If ya'll have ever had this problem. Please let me know. Is this something I can have trained out of her if I put the money to it? or will this be a constant worry and anxiety for me to deal with?😮‍💨

Update: I will still be sharing content of Rhea and our beautiful pups we've had in the past. And keeping this page alive. Though maybe not as avidly as before.
However, I need to update anyone curious. We will not be breeding Newfoundland's for a while. We are in a season of life where I don't have the time and attention to spend on them that I should. Also, my kids are getting older and involved in things that are much more time consuming. My husband and I want to be present in a time where our babies are preparing to head off on their own. We are excited for their growth and development and to see what they'll do in the future and what we can do to help them prepare for it..
We Love and have enjoyed our small community of followers, and I'm so incredibly grateful for all of the support ya'll have been.
Looking forward to the future.

So I haven't posted in a while, and it makes me feel bad, because I take pictures all the time and with a plan to post and I just get busy. I'm sure lots of people can relate.
For this post today, I write it with a little bit of sadness in my heart. At the end of June I was able to take Rhea in to get her OFA heart screening. Thankfully, she is a healthy dog. However, they did find traces of an arrythmia. So, we opted for another heart monitoring test that gives us more information. Rhea did not like it. ☺️ She had to wear what looked like a horse coat, and got shaved in a few places to wear the heart monitor harness.
Long story short we received news she does have confirmed diagnosis of Ventricular (VPC) Arrythmia. I am relieved to say this is not congenital or hereditary.
It is not without a small dose of disbelief and a lot of sadness that I announce that we have chosen to not use Rhea for our breeding program. She is a beautiful soul, and a wonderful companion who is equal amounts frustrating and amazing. With all the loss we have experienced in the last year with our Newfoundlands, we have chosen Rhea over her ability to breed. We will be focusing our efforts on her training, and health. Her vets and I have a plan in motion to help discover the underlying cause of her arrythmia.

I know a lot of people have been waiting for us to have another litter, and I feel a keen sense of loss that I cannot continue to use Autumn or her beautiful daughters, Everest and Rhea, to share the love that is so unique to the newfoundland breed. I hope that those of you still in want of a Newfie will be able to find one that fits with your lifestyle and family. I also pray that I'll be able to resume ICE Newfoundlands breeding program as soon as Rhea's health issues are under control and circumstances allow. I hope you'll all stay tuned, and keep following us on this journey we are taking.
We love our followers and thank you for all your support in all the ups and downs.

Stopped in Meridian Idaho on our way to Utah to let Rhea see her friends she met last week, And get out some energy. The kids had fun seeing all the different kinds of dogs and getting dinner passing/exercise in.

She wore herself out chasing dogs a lot faster than her. 😏
