Little Snow got to have a play date with her newest boyfriend DJ!
This little girl just loves other dogs and would like to find a permanent soul mate. We are hoping to get her adopted to a family with another young dog or with Blanco. Both Snow and Blanco are accepting applications on our website at bichonrescue.org/adoption.
Do you like to play early in the morning? Or better yet do you have another young dog that likes to play? Snow would love to meet them!! Adopt at bichonrescue.org
Well...our little friend Snow...who loves to run and play with other bichons...has been busy stealing toys from the toy box when her foster mom isn't looking! Adopt at bichonrescue.org
Pluto is starting to feel better and getting out to explore the hood with his foster mom. He is an inspiration!
Many thanks to those of you who contributed such sweet photos for this greeting.
We hope all of you enjoy this greeting showing our love for our Bichons and our appreciation for the people who help BFCACT continue their work of giving abandoned and surrendered Bichons a second chance in life.
Join us on this journey of despair, love and hope…

Once upon a time there was a sweet little Bichon named Pluto living in Florida. He found himself in a scary, loud animal shelter where no one wanted to adopt him and his time was drawing short. Thankfully, a wonderful rescue group transported him to a shelter in Virginia, where he was adopted. A few years later his human companion returned him to that shelter, no longer having either the time to care for him or the resources to treat a mass on one of his hind legs. The biopsy showed it to be a 2.5” Grade II Soft Tissue Sarcoma (STS) and veterinarians associated with the shelter amputated the leg to save his life.
While the first days after surgery were tough for our boy, he started to walk on three legs. Unfortunately, Pluto was not handling his shelter life well, so the kind shelter staff reached out to BFCACT. Of course we stepped up to help, and one of our volunteers took him on his Freedom Ride to an experienced, loving foster Mom and Dad not far away.
The fosters welcomed him with open arms. He was able to leave his crate and join the other family Bichons, where one of them comforted him. The foster Mom put him in a softer cone, which he liked much better. But sadly there were more rocky times ahead for Pluto. While he allowed the fosters to pet his head, he appeared to be one unhappy little boy. But we just received some wonderful news. The fosters' veterinarian prescribed stronger pain meds, and Pluto is now starting to be the sweet boy he was meant to be. In fact, he was curled up by his foster sister Amelia and Mom early this morning. And better yet, he is running and walking, enjoying his foster siblings and as many treats as his foster Mom will allow.
We know Pluto has a long road of recovery and adjustment ahead of him, but this is where the hope and love come in. He will now be smothered with affection and attention, enjoy nutritious food and have the best in veterinary care.

Playtime for Buddy
Do you remember our sweet boy Buddy in Atlanta? He is the four-year-old, 12 lb. adorable fluff who had been turned into BFCACT because a German Shepherd in the home had attacked him several times? He was not safe in his own home! Well, a few scary incidents don’t seem to have dampened his joy for life. He is quite the lively and playful little boy. He follows his foster mom around the house, loves to give her lots of kisses, and enjoys playing with his foster sister puppy. He is crate trained and working hard on his housetraining manners. We believe he is ready for adoption and a person to call his own.
If you are interested in adopting Buddy, please complete one of our adoption applications at https://www.bichonrescue.org/adoption-form. We do not transport our dogs so prospective adopters would need to travel to Atlanta for a meet and greet. Thank you!

Our own Mary Herrmann and her doggie ice cream station at the Bichon Bash
There comes a time during the Bichon Bash when a hush falls over the crowd (well maybe that is an overstatement, but stay with us here). Teams of Bichons and their human companions gather for the ultimate competition - the pie eating contest. Ready, set, go, and the fierce competitors are off - devouring their tasty and healthy pumpkin pies to win the coveted prize. The crowd and competitors cheer the winners and are left with only happy memories and a coating of whipped cream. Don't miss it! Register for the Bash at https://www.bichonrescue.org/bichonbash

Meet Babe.
Babe is a special girl who has been through a lot. She spent the first 7 years of her life as a dam for a breeding kennel, without knowing the joys and comforts that should come with being a dog. Sadly, at her young age, cataracts prevent her from seeing more than shadows.
Despite these challenges, Babe is a very sweet and happy-go-lucky girl who will someday be a wonderful addition to any family. Restoring her sight will ensure she’s able to live life to the fullest. Will you consider donating to our rescue, to help Babe restore her sight? Visit our website to learn more: https://www.bichonrescue.org/donate
