I am often answering the question of how big is a miniature cow in Australia.
The following chart is a guide, remembering that conformation is more important than size.
Balanced proportions of head, horns, neck, body, hindquarters, and legs;
• Sturdy and straight legs with good bone and hair coverage;
• Proper coat characteristics that align with breed integrity

Note that there is no minimum height for standard size cattle, so there is sometimes crossover between “standard” and “mid sized” miniatures, which adds to confusion.
It is important to know the background genetics of the animal you are buying as this helps predicts its eventual size, and also may help decide if you should use the animal for breeeding.
