New food, who dis!? 👅
After needing to swap macaronis raw food for something new, we tried open farm gently cooked recipes, but I knew it would be too expensive to feed long term & I didn’t love the amount of carbs & copper. After considering a few other options, I knew the only way to feed him something affordable & up to my standards was this mix or one of the Dr Harvey’s mixes.
Other pre packaged gently cooked recipes were far too expensive (raised right, all provide, open farm, Darwin’s in case you’re interested in looking) - and this particular mix has been on my radar for a few years. This brand makes really great products & I even have a friend who uses this and loves it for her dogs.
Here are the ingredients: beef liver, organic parsley, beef bones, beef heart, organic broccoli, organic kale, organic ginger, organic kelp, organic agaricus bisporus mushrooms ✅
This recipe uses all Whole Foods to balance the meal, meeting the nutrient requirements without any synthetics! 😍
It’s also an extremely simple recipe which is something I was really needing for Mac right now & would be great for dogs with allergies or sensitivities. Mac’s gut got very messed up a few months ago from medication & that’s why I needed to change his food. I loved the raw food (small batch) he was eating, but it wasn’t working for him given the damage meds did to his gut 🥲
This mix gives you the option to add cooked or raw meat to it ✅

If your dog has never tried one before, you can expect this treat to take at least 2 minutes, maybe a few more to eat depending on your dog. This treat is very crunchy, but prefer easy to eat. For a dog that’s never had one (or a dog that will) they will enjoy the different textures while working through it. It doesn’t have a strong smell so no worries on strong odors. It will leave a few crumbs behind, but I’m sure your dog will pick those right up! 👅

Can we believe thanksgiving has come and gone? The Christmas deadline is December 14th, but even that is a stretch for a delivery with some of the shipping delays! So if you need anything last minute, be sure to place your order ASAP!
Thank you to those of you who placed website orders for the Black Friyay sale!! And thank you all for the love on Macaroni's post. He puked once yesterday but has still kept food down and is perking up I think! We go to our vet on Thursday.

Hi every pawdy! Last night we took macaroni to the emergency vet for lots of vomiting. He had a collagen chew that I don’t think his tummy agreed with. Mac has always had a selective sensitive tummy.
He puked up some of the chew, then puked 3 more times including his small dinner we decided to try and give him.
We were there for almost 5 hours, he puked twice (just bile) while we were there.
While waiting we decided to opt for fluids and an anti nausea meds since he didn’t have a fever, his gums were pink, and he was acting mostly fine.

Well, after we asked for that treatment option it was over 2 hours of waiting for that & we were still not getting seen for treatment. Mac was getting tired (and so were we lol) and when he curled up on the floor and fell asleep, I decided it was time to go home. ER’s are based on priority, I get that 100%, and I was so sad for the other dogs I saw coming in and the conversations I heard for other dogs while we were there. But another gut feeling came up and told me I was happy we came, but we might be okay to go home now.
We got home at midnight and he slept until 8 this morning with no puking!
I made him some chicken, a scrambled egg and added a little pumpkin puree. So far he’s kept that down and he’s just sleeping.
I tell you all this for a few reasons.
1. Any parent and even dog parent will someday learn to always trust your gut. Even when you’re uncertain, there’s always a gut feeling followed by a voice in your head, follow it. And know that sometimes the gut feeling pulls you in another direction, which is a mind f**k, and scary lol
2. Any treat, from anywhere can upset a dogs stomach. Any treat could also cause a number of other issues, such is life? Right? High quality treats and of course lower quality treats can be problematic at any time. My shop is no exception. Of course, I only choose treats based on specific health criteria, but even healthy treats can upset any dogs stomach. Ya know?
3. Paying attention to your dogs poops, food intake, treat intake, etc is always important - this way, incase anything ever goes sideways you have an idea of the who what where where and possibly why.
4. I think that’s it for now 🐾
Oh! Those of you who ordered Friday - Sunday, I am not heading to the post office today to be home with Mac all day, so your boxes will be shipped first thing tomorrow if he stays feeling good. Thank you for your understanding!! 🩵
