Rosie had her first lesson with us. She is an 8 week old Boston Terrier and now is part of a wonderful family who is eager to learn all about her.
Rosie’s family to new to dog ownership so we went over all types of things like food, training, schedules for house training, behaviors, ect..
They learned about leash skills, marking training, and luring. I’m excited to see what they accomplish in the next few weeks.

Meet Willow. At home she struggles with possession aggression. While here or off her property in general she is sweet. However she needs confidence building and impulse control training. We are enjoying having her here while her family vacations.

Knox is 11 weeks old today. He got his second round of shots this past Tuesday and he got his Bordetella too! Now it is time to get him out and about for socialization.
Training started when he came home two weeks ago. I built up my relationship with him teaching basic obedience and proper play. He works for every meal- even if it’s just a simple sit. Actually he works for everything he gets- including my affections. If he makes the right choice to not jump when he comes over to me her gets pet and that’s working. Simple everyday things make or break a well trained.
Having a well trained dog is a lifestyle. Being a dog owner means being a dog trainer. So give us a call so we can teach you all about that!

Leia out in some hard work at a local football practice. She did pretty great 😁
Leia struggles with settling down in pretty much all situations. We are working her around all sorts of distractions things so when she goes home she is proofed and has a better chance of sucess when out and about with her mom and dad.
This mindset is not just taught out in public- it starts inside the home. Boundaries need to be put in place and your lifestyle has to allow for proper exercise elsewhere. If her needs are not met appropriately she will fail in these situations.

Auggie had his first lesson with us.
He is a Cavalier Spaniel mix and was rescued in May- so he’s still new and everything else is still new!
He has become possessive over his family- especially dad! So today I focused on teaching his family to direct Auggie and teach him what he is supposed to do instead. I went over the importance of being consistent- consistency is important for a bunch of reasons but I decided to focus on the trust factor through consistency today.
Of course we went over marker training and pressures and showed them all how navigate correctly. It was a great success!

Wondering what to expect when potty training your young puppy?
Take a glimpse at my first night with Knox- it’s just screenshots from my security camera but it’s something to reference time.
About every three hours he was making noise. When a puppy wakes up you’ve got to get them outside to potty if you want success with potty training. I get up every time- I am sleeping in the room he is in for the first few weeks/ months. This helps tremendously with being on top of his potty training.
Every time I got up I put on his harness and leash- I will transition to a collar in about a week- I can not stress leash walking your dog enough especially during times of teaching.
At 2:31 he peed but didn’t p**p- I got back up at 2:54 and he p**ped. If at first you don’t succeed try again. Puppies this age and in new environments have zero idea what is going on. I need to teach him and putting in this effort now will make life so much more joyful as he grows into an adult dog.
Also, this is the easy time- he’s still adjusting and in about a week he’s going to be wild. This makes me getting him on a schedule now even more important for my mental health 🤪 and all future success!

Remy wants to remind his fellow pack members to be safe and stay cool!
Day 3 of this heat advisory and it is getting warmer by the minute. Hopefully the rain cools things down tomorrow… in the meantime we know it can be overwhelming to try and figure out how to keep your dogs exercised and mentally fulfilled during extreme weather conditions.. here are a few tips:
Dedicate a few more minutes a day to training, grooming, playing inside - anything that is engaging for both you and your dog. Remember to use your training tools every step of the way! A nice massage on the floor can help your dog get more relaxed too. Maybe even a game of hide and seek!
Freeze some of their favorite treats and food! Giving them some chew toys/ treats/ food that is frozen will prolong their engagement while keeping them cool and give them more mental stimulation.
Teach them something new- like how to pose for a photo shoot! That hard work will tire everyone out and make for a super fun time for everyone!

What a great pack walk today!
Luna, an almost 7 year old Dogo Argentino has some leash reactivity towards other dogs- especially those who approach her. Today we taught mom and Luna how to conquer that reactivity. It was definitely a success!
Some pack member who have graduated joined in on the walk to help Luna learn as much as she could in an hour and a half.

Sweet Poppy! A few months ago I posted Poppy during her first session with me. She is a rescue and now has a wonderful life with a family who loves her dearly. Before poppy was rescued she spent her life in a cage and it’s clear that people were not kind to her. She is about 6 and just seeing her play is enough to make me cry happy tears. She is such a sweet dog and her family is doing wonderful with her! Check out some of her body language- pick out when she’s happy and see what is a trigger that causes her to shut down. Bennie went through our board and train program almost a year ago. Here I’m just refreshing some of our place command work during his boarding stay with me. He is the type of dog who needs insane mental stimulation to be calm and well exercised. This training drill tired him out in a matter of minutes, and he had such a blast doing it.
