Hello everyone!

The Massey SPCA Desexing Clinic is now closed for the year.

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has brought their cats through and trusted us students to gain new and exciting skills throughout 2024!

Our email is still active, so feel free to send us any queries you may have. However, it will not be checked as frequently, so please be patient as we take some time off this holiday season to spend time with loved ones.

We look forward to seeing you again soon, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Be safe this holiday season! 🎄

Warmest wishes,

The team at the Massey SPCA Desexing Clinic ❤️

Kia Ora Everyone,

We would like to inform you that our clinic will be closing for the Christmas and Summer period. Our final clinic day for the year will be Friday, 15th December. At this stage, we are unable to confirm a reopening date, but we will keep you updated as soon as plans are finalised.

Please note that we are currently fully booked. However, if any last-minute cancellations arise, we will make these available, so keep an eye out for updates.

If you have an upcoming appointment, we kindly ask you to prioritise attending as missed appointments cannot be rescheduled before our closure.

Thank you for your understanding and support. We wish you a safe and happy holiday season!

Ngā mihi nui,
The Massey SPCA Desexing Clinic President Team

😾 APPOINTMENT NO-SHOWS 😾
Unfortunately we have had a number of client no-shows recently 😿
Please do not book until you are certain you will be able to turn up on the day.
Not only are our spaces very limited bookings and always in demand, it is also unfair on our students and staff who volunteer their weekends to allow this clinic to run.

No-shows, without any explanation, will unfortunately not be able to rebook as this isn't fair to other clients that missed out or our students/teaching staff.

We understand that life happens and appreciate you letting us know as soon as possible if you cannot make it to your appointment. The more notice we are provided with the easier it is to fill your spot and rebook you at a suitable date.

Thank you!

Hello everyone🐱

We are on break for a few weeks from this week - student volunteers will be studying hard for exams!
This also means that our communication will be slower.

Sorry for any inconvenience, and thank you for your understanding!:)

🙈 APPOINTMENT NO-SHOWS 🙈

Unfortunately we have had a huge amount of client no-shows through the clinic lately 🥲 If you make and confirm an appointment, please make sure you turn up on the day!

Our spaces are very limited and bookings are always in demand, a no-show appointment means that another person and their cat could've come through instead.

We understand that life happens and appreciate you letting us know as soon as possible if you cannot make it to your appointment. With at least a days notice, we are able to fill this spot and should be able to rebook you at a later date.

Persistent no-shows will unfortunately not be able to rebook as this isn't fair to other clients that missed out or our students/teaching staff.

Thank you! 😺

Hi everyone,

Don't forget that this Sunday (29th) is daylight savings, so remember to change your clocks forward this weekend. So those of you bringing cats in to be desexed will lose 1 hour of sleep, which can be given back through a cat nap.

Thank you everyone and get ready to cat nap.

Our service also includes microchipping!
Why should I microchip my cat?
The microchip is as small as a grain of rice under your cats skin
The number of the microchip is registered along with your contact information on the Companion Animals NZ Register
If your cat goes missing and is found by a member of the public or animal services, the microchip can be scanned by an approved agent, such as a vet clinic
You should then be contacted to say your missing cat has been found ☺
Learn more about microchipping here:

One of our most commonly asked questions...

"I think my cat is pregnant, can she still be desexed?"

We can still desex a pregnant cat, as long as she is more than 7 days away from giving birth.

If your cat has already given birth, she can be desexed at our clinic 2 weeks after she has finished nursing her kittens.

We hope this helps, and look forward to seeing you and your cat soon!

🐾 Attention Pet Owners! 🐾

We’ve noticed a significant number of no-shows for our desexing appointments recently. This is affecting our ability to help as many pets as possible.

If you’re unable to make your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer your spot to someone else.

We have a long waiting list of eager owners who are ready to sign up early. By keeping us informed, you’re helping us ensure that more pets get the care they need in a timely manner.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation! ❤️

ABOUT US:

We are a volunteer run organisation for the community. We only desex cats and kittens for clients that must have a community service card, gold card, or be a full time student. Kittens must be 15 weeks old/1.5kg to be desexed. Female cats are $20, and this includes lifetime microchip and registration. Male cats are $10, and this also includes lifetime microchip and registration. We also desex cats only weekends, since we volunteer our very limited free time to help the community. We are full time veterinarians, vet techs and nurses, and full time students with part time jobs. We have desexed over 1,200 cats in the past two years!
