We got our first IG in 2013 and really fell head over heels in love with this special breed. Our current home pack consists of Violet, Candy, Sweetie, Boy and two puppies named Goody and W***y. We also are co-owners on some of our offspring residing with their families.
Lynn started showing in May 2014 and has owner handled finished five AKC Champions, one got her Dual Championship (DC), three going on to become Bronze Grand Champions (GCHB), and two of those (Violet and Candy) added their Dual Champion (GCHB DC) title through Lure Coursing Field Championships (FC) and hold the historic prestige of being the first and only IGs to attain this AKC title. Boy quickly achieved his Silver Grand Championship (GCHS) and now has his Gold Grand Championship (GCHG). He also was the #1 Ranked Male IG Breed & All Breed for 2018.
Since 2015, our dogs and their offspring have won and/or been awarded: ~ multiple wins and placements in Toy Groups and Owner Handled cometition including multiple Best In Specialty wins, Best and Reserve Best In Show Owner Handled. ~Ranked in the Top 20 Italian Greyhounds the last two years. ~Best Puppy and Best Opposite Puppy In Sweeps National Specialties. ~Won Best Puppy in National Specialty Show ~ Multiple Best of Breed or placed very high at AKC National Championship Shows, Westminster, National Specialty Shows and Regional Specialty Shows. ~ An Alura dog from our first litter sired the 2019 Westminster Best of Breed winner and #1 IG for 2018. In the north, we have a Canadian Grand Champion. Our foundation girl, Violet...GCHB DC Warwick's Violet Blue at Marchwind, is a Top Producer and dam of 5 Champions.
Scott especially enjoys the dogs as athletes and prepares them for lure coursing competition. We have been very successful on the field. At the 2015 IGCA National Specialty Show, Violet won Best of Breed AKC Lure Coursing, then went in the show ring a couple days later and won Select Bitch. Candy had the same exact results two years later at the 2017 IGCA National Specialty Show. Candy followed that up and won Best of Breed at the 2017 AKC National Lure Coursing Championships.

Our dogs standout with their friendly temperaments, high stepping movement, beautiful conformation and natural athleticism. We feel it is vital to do DNA health testing to work towards a healthy gene pool for the future. Our dog and puppies live with us and learn to be good family members from the very start. Nothing makes us happier than a puppy owner that is thrilled with their wonderful dog, whether in the show ring, or taking a walk in the neighborhood. Potential puppy owners are well screened and matched with the right puppy. They become Alura Family to us.
Another great thing since we got into this breed is all the great new people we have come to know and love. The bond we share through Italian Greyhounds is amazing.
