Jack is back at Camelot Court Animal Clinic! 🐶💜

Dr. DeLuke first met Jack a few months ago, and performed a parathyroidrectomy (removal of his parathyroid gland). More recently, however, Jack was diagnosed with stones in his urinary bladder and two masses within his liver. Fortunately, Dr. DeLuke was able to address both issues during this most recent surgery.

We are wishing this adorably cuddly boy a speedy recovery, and appreciate having the opportunity to participate in his care once again! 🐾🎉

Team KC had a busy day, completing five orthopedic procedures all before 4pm. Dr. DeLuke, Shay and Becky make a fantastic team, and we appreciate their amazing partner hospitals who make this possible!

Allow us to introduce Gunner, who was recovering from his TPLO procedure performed at Brisbane Veterinary Services. Don't worry, this sweet boy had plenty of pain meds on board to keep him comfortable and he was none-the-wiser about his procedure. Weighing in at over 100 pounds, he was a gentle giant and full of love! ❤️🐾🐶

We are wishing this sweet boy a speedy recovery and thank the team at Brisbane Veterinary Services for the opportunity to participate in the care of their patients.

Doesn't that face just say it all? ❤️🐾🐶

Team Kansas City visited Thompson Hills Animal Clinic to perform an MPL repair on Mr. Waffles. This surgery stabilizes the kneecap when patients like Mr. Waffles suffer from a patellar luxation; a condition where the kneecap moves out of its natural position. If left untreated, the movement from the kneecap could predispose to the development of arthritis and can lead to mobility issues.

This sweet boy will feel so much better now, and we appreciate having the opportunity to participate in his care!

Dr. DeLuke, Shay, and Becky visited North Oak Animal Hospital and met this sweet boy, McGuire.

Unfortunately, McGuire suffered a fracture to one of his front legs, but do not fear! Dr. DeLuke came to the rescue and was able to repair his injuries. While he was under anesthesia, the team went ahead and performed his neuter; this will avoid a second surgery in the near future!

We are wishing this adorably cuddly boy a speedy recovery, and appreciate having the opportunity to participate in his care! 🐶💜🐾

Dr. DeLuke, Becky and Shay met Maya at Picture Hills Pet Hospital.

Dr. DeLuke was able to successfully perform surgery to address her BOAS (Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome). This will ensure that Maya can breathe easier!

We were able to steal a few snuggles with a very snoozy post-op Maya! 🐾❤️🎉

Dr. DeLuke, Becky and Shay visited Veterinary Center of Liberty to perform an MPL surgery on Pearl.

This surgery stabilizes the kneecap when patients like Pearl suffer from a patellar luxation; a condition where the kneecap moves out of its natural position. If left untreated, the movement from the kneecap could predispose to the development of arthritis and can lead to mobility issues.

This sweet girl will feel so much better now, and we appreciate having the opportunity to participate in her care! Can you tell Dr. DeLuke fell instantly in love? ❤️🐾🥰

Poor Annie ~ Currently regretting her recent choice of eating something she shouldn't have 🤢

Annie belongs to a staff member at Veterinary Center of Liberty, and she ingested a makeup sponge (for the second time 😳). Fortunately, the team was able to induce vomiting which produced the sponge.

Annie was feeling much better after vomiting, but we certainly hope she's learned her lesson!! 👏🎉🐾

Virgil needed a TPLO procedure to help stabilize his knee joint. Dr. DeLuke, Shay, & Becky visited Kennedy's Animal Clinic to complete this procedure.

Very similar to humans, dogs commonly suffer from injuries to the ligaments (Cranial Cruciate Ligament) and the cartilage (Meniscus) within the knee. Once these tissues are damaged, the knee becomes unstable and this leads to the development of swelling (effusion) within the joint. Overtime arthritis will form, so not only will mobility be affected but the condition is painful.

We are grateful for having the opportunity to participate in his care. We wish Virgil a speedy recovery!

Dr. DeLuke, Shay, and Becky visited Camelot Court Animal Clinic to perform an MPL surgery on Divet. A walking example that you can be twice as cute with one less eye! 😉

This surgery stabilizes the kneecap(s) when patients like Divet suffer from a patellar luxation; a condition where the kneecap moves out of its natural position.

If left untreated, the movement from the kneecap could predispose to the development of arthritis and can lead to mobility issues. This sweet girl will feel so much better now, and we appreciate having the opportunity to participate in her care!

Dr. DeLuke, Shay, & Becky visited the Veterinary Center of Liberty to meet Squiggy. After suffering from recurrent urethral obstructions (a life-threatening condition preventing urination), Squiggy had a PU (Perineal Urethrostomy) procedure performed.

📚VetMed Fact: A perineal urethrostomy is a surgical procedure that is most commonly performed on male cats with urinary obstructions. This procedure shortens and widens the urethra (the tube that transports the urine from the bladder to the exterior of the body), allowing for easier urination with a lower risk of obstruction.

We are so grateful to be given the opportunity to participate in Squiggy's care! He is in great hands with the team at Veterinary Center of Liberty, and as you can see from the photos, is feeling much better already!

Roxy, the sweetest tripod, had a TPLO procedure 8 weeks ago with Team Kansas City to help stabilize her knee joint.

Once these tissues are damaged, the knee becomes unstable and this leads to the development of swelling (effusion) within the joint. Overtime, arthritis will form, so not only will mobility be affected but the condition is painful.

Dr. DeLuke, Shay, & Becky were reunited with Roxy at Fox Hill Veterinary Clinic during her post-op radiographs. We are grateful for having the opportunity to participate in her care. We are wishing Roxy a speedy recovery!
