Converse Police Department’s K9 Spyro to get donation of body armor.

Converse Police Department, TX, K9 Spyro will receive a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. K9 Spyro’s vest is sponsored by Susan Haque of Grand Rapids, MI and will be embroidered with the sentiment “Born to Love -Trained to Serve-Loyal Always”. Delivery is expected within ten weeks.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., established in 2009, is a 501(c)(3) charity whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States. This potentially lifesaving body armor for four-legged K9 officers is U.S. made, custom fitted, and NIJ certified. Since its inception, Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. has provided over 5,837 vests to K9s in all 50 states at a value of $6.9 million, made possible by both private and corporate donations.

The program is open to U.S. dogs that are at least 20 months old and actively employed and certified with law enforcement or related agencies. K9s with expired vests are also eligible to participate. There are an estimated 30,000 law enforcement K9s throughout the United States.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. accepts tax-deductible contributions in any amount, while a single donation of $985 will sponsor one vest. Each vest has a value of $1800.00, weighs an average of 4-5 lb., and comes with a five-year warranty. For more information, or to learn about volunteer opportunities, please call 508-824-6978. Another job well done by one of our very own. and his handler tracked down and apprehended the driver of a vehicle transporting illegal aliens through South Texas. After a bail-out and brief search, K9 Hulk located the driver who was promptly taken into custody.

🚨🚨 ADOPTION ALERT 🚨 🚨

Yall meet Toby! He's a yellow Labrador Retriever at approximately 2 years old. Toby is a typical, happy, high energy Lab looking for his new PET HOME. This pup is just as social and approachable as he looks in these photos. Great with children, and he's never met a stranger.

Toby was slatted for our narcotics detection training program, and our trainers determined that his focus and level of intensity are just not what we require for detection dogs.

Toby is now available for adoption to the right family. He will require plenty of attention and room to run.

Our K9 Trainers were out at the Pearl Brewery in San Antonio, Texas. The environment always makes for great exposure for young dogs in training.

With high foot/stranger traffic, unknown aggressive dogs, loud music, and intense distraction, the dogs handled it like champs 🏆
