OUR PROCESS
Lucky Labs get most of their dogs from local high kill shelters in North and South Carolina. We rescue many just a day before they are to be euthanized. We have volunteers that work daily with local shelters to learn of new dogs that are surrendered. When Lucky Labs Rescue brings a lucky lab into our rescue, each one is immediately vetted for vaccines, spayed or neutered, tested for heartworms, and wormed for intestinal parasites. The dogs are temperament tested and are put onto our foster program while they await their furever homes. Once someone sees a lab they are interested in and an application has been completed, Lucky Labs Rescue does a phone interview, checks the vet reference that is provided by the prospective adopter, and then we do a home visit. The home visit is very important. This is a great time to discuss nutritional needs, housebreaking, etc. with the adoptive family to see if they have any questions. We require each of our dogs to be kept inside at night, no exceptions. We make sure the family understands that any pet has to be treated as "a member of the family". We encourage families to participate in obedience classes if necessary. Lastly, we discuss the exercise options for the dog. Labs are energetic dogs that need proper exercise. DONATIONS
Lucky Labs Rescue spends an AVERAGE of $600 per dog that we rescue. Our adoption fee is only $350 per dog, so we survive on your generous donations! Additionally, we also accept donations of food, crates, collars, leashes, etc. CONTACT INFO

✨ADOPTER NEEDED FOR SWEET CRICKET!✨ Meet Cricket a 25lbs mini Lab mix who is a bundle of love. 💗 Found as a stray, this 1 ½ year old was taken in by Lucky Lab Rescue and has done very well for herself. 🤩 She has been in foster with multiple dogs for about a month and gets along with the whole family. 🥰 She loves going on outings to the lake and park. ⛵️ She has tip toed into the lake even with the cold temperatures and has fetched a ball or two. 🤣 At the park she is very outgoing having to speak with all the people and sniff all dogs. 🐕 Loving from all persons is required for this good girl! 🎀 She is good on leash and loves walking and know a few commands. 👏🏼 She seems to be house trained but she did let her foster know when she had to go out before learning the dog door, which she did very quickly. 👍🏻 She loves to cuddle on the couch and in the bed! 💤 She would do well with another dog in the house. She would be an awesome addition to any house and will love you unconditionally forever!

Oh pretty Harper, girl how have we still not found the perfect home for you?! She loves food and is very motivated by it. 😃 She loves to be outside and to play with toys. 🧸 She definitely needs exercise. 🙏🏻 Her nose is always going and she is excellent in her crate. ☺️ She needs work on a leash but she is getting better. ❤️ Harper’s dream home would be somewhere with a lot of land that she could sniff and explore! 🐾

✨UPDATE FROM POPPY’S FOSTER FAMILY✨ Poppy definitely has puppy energy and likes to play, but she definitely will settle down as well. 👍🏻 She’s doing well with potty training and has only had two since she’s been here. 🤗 She sleeps in a crate at night. When she is crated during the day, she cries for a little while, but will settle down. 💤 She is super super sweet and extremely easy for a puppy. 🥰

Foster for Sassy still needed!! She is a wonderful 7 year old girl and would make a great addition to any household for a few weeks while we find her a forever family 🫶🏼🫶🏼

✨FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED ASAP!!✨ Weston is a one year old boy who was surrendered to us. He comes from a very loving family who shared the following about Weston to help find him a great home. 🤍

Weston is a wonderful boy who has LOTS of puppy energy and would do best in a home with a fenced yard or a very active home. 🏠 He is very strong and excited when on the leash. 🐾

Fun facts about Weston:
-He loves other dogs and people 🚶‍♂️
-He is Crate trained ✔️
-He isn’t really food motivated but wouldn’t turn down a good treat 😋
-He believes he has a voice and he wants people to hear it 😂
-He will get the zoomies when first let out of the crate in the morning 🥹
-His favorite thing is butt scratches or arm scratches 🥰
-When the wind blows he wants to stand there and facing it like he’s the main character in a movie 🎬
-If he finds a sock, he will take it and run with it 🧦
-He walks when he poops and moves to different spots to p*e 💩
-He loves his people and will cuddle when he’s tuckered out 🤗
- He knows sit, paw, speak, and lay 🦴
-We make him sit before his food 👍🏻
-Watch bathroom trash cans, he can be curious! 🚽
-We allowed him on the couch so breaking him of that may be hard 🤣
-He loves bones 🙏🏻
- He will dig if left alone outside or bored🤪
-He is wonderful for baths but the dryer may give him the zoomies 🛁
-He will howl sometimes if in a crate too long 😭
-He likes to take a mid day nap like a grandpa 💤
- I recommend a towel near his water bowl because he will hold water in his mouth and look around 😂
-WHEN HE NEEDS TO GO OUT HE WILL SIT BY THE DOOR 🙏🏻

URGENT FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED!!

Beautiful Sassy was surrendered to a local shelter and is now looking for her forever family.

She has a delightful personality, greets everyone with a full tail wag, and is good with other dogs.

Sassy is happy, active and very affectionate. She appears to be house trained and is a great size weighing in at 60 lbs. The shelter has Sassy's age at 10 but the vet thinks she is maybe 7. She has very little gray hair and is very active.

FOSTER HOME SECURED!!!
✨URGENT, Foster home needed!!✨ Poppy and her mom were dumped on a rural road in South Carolina. 😭 Sweet Poppy is just seven months old and very bonded to her mom. Unfortunately, mom’s pregnant and is now with a whelping Foster, and Poppy is all alone. 😣 She is in boarding and really needs a home and family. 🫶🏼 Poppy loves other dogs and would do best in a home with dogs to play with. 🤍 She is 7 months old and all puppy energy. 🐾 If you are available to bring the sweet girl into your home until we can find her a permanent family, please contact us asap. 🙏🏻

✨UPDATE FROM RUFFLES FOSTER✨

Ruffles is house-trained (will whine to be let out) and knows sit, paw, and down. 👏🏼 He will sit for you to leash/unleash him and will sit to be fed as well. 🙏🏻 He likes a dogbed and is content to just chill on it. 😂 He loves the couch and gets up on it ever so gently. 🥹 So far, Ruffles doesn’t care about deer, squirrel, birds or geese and we haven’t heard him bark yet even when the UPS man came! 👍🏻 He definitely was an inside dog and rides in the car like a champ. 🥰 He’s a very content and super easy boy! 😊

✨COURTESY POST✨ Murphy was rescued at 3 months old from the Greenville County, SC Animal Shelter. He’s now 2 years old, neutered and up-to-date on his vaccines. He is also microchipped.

Training started in April, 2023. He listens to commands such as sit, down, place, shake. Continuing to work with him with walks and jumping on guests when they come in the door. He’s a sweet boy. Loves to snuggle on the couch with anyone that will allow him to put his head on their lap. He does sleep in the bed with his owner and goes to a kennel (Camp Wagging Tails - Cornelius) when they’re out of town and does well.

Maya is just SO precious! She loves to be a couch potato but really enjoys her daily walk as well. 🐕‍🦺 She is smart, a quick learner and eager to please. 🙏🏻 She loves people, and likes when people stop to pet her on our walks. 😂 She is also good with dogs, she is shy at first and then warms up. 🥰

✨COURTEST POST✨ BB IS A 6 year old yellow/white lab mix who is 50 lbs and HW neg! This BEAUTIFUL girl unfortunately lost her home when her owner was sent to jail! 😭😭 How amazingly SAD for her! 😣 BB is a very gentle and sweet girl. 🥰 She has been an only dog and seems to enjoy that. 👍🏻 She is not a fan of another dog getting in her face but she is ok with other laid back dogs. This girl will be such a terrific addition to her new family! 🤍

✨FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED!✨ Joker (now called Milo) is a sweet 1 year old puppy who has been in a temp foster home for the holidays. ❣️ He is an energetic cuddle bug who likes to play hard but then will rest quietly while snoring on his bed. 😂 He walks great on a leash with his harness and also loves to run on leash. 👏🏼 He does not eagerly go into the crate at night but when coaxed with a treat he will sleep 8-9 hours in his crate with no whining and no accidents. 🐾 He is totally housebroken! 🙂 At first he jumped frequently on the counters but has learned OFF and responds to that command. 👍🏻 In just a few days he has learned SIT, SHAKE, and DOWN - smart boy! He loves other dogs and would likely be good in a home with another energetic and playful dog (his energy can be too much for some more mellow dogs). 🐕 He is curiously afraid of the cat and backed off when she hissed and swatted. 🐈 She does not run, I imagine he would chase if she did. He has greeted house visitors with enthusiasm but settles down quickly. 👏🏼 He loves to play with the soccer ball and tennis ball in the backyard. ⚽️ Milo has huge potential but will need patient, consistent training. With a loving family, Milo is sure to become the most perfect dog! 🐾

Maya is doing GREAT, loves walks, AND is crate and house trained! 👏🏼 Working on her loose leash skills- She will do anything for cheese. 🧀 😂 Gave her a kong and she hasn’t figured out what to do with it yet, will take a few licks and then quits. 😋🤣 she loves relaxing on the couch. 💤 Maya is not big into toys, but loves couch cuddles and walks. 🥰 she loves to burrow in blankets and has mastered the sad puppy dog face when standing in the kitchen! See pics for proof! 😂 she lets me give her a bath and do her ear drops no problem- she is incredibly sweet and deserves the best home!

✨ADOPTER OR FOSTER NEEDED!!✨ This handsome seven year old boy was dumped at the shelter after being found as a stray. 😭😭 Ruffles clearly is looking for his family… but no one came to claim him! 😣 He is a very sweet and loving boy who greets everyone with a tail wag. 🤍

The shelter placed Ruffles in a foster home where he lived with several other dogs and did not need to be crated. 👏🏼 He appears to be house trained, he knows several commands. and is pretty good on a leash. 🥰 He weighs in at 60lbs, great size. 🐾 Ruffles would do best in a home with dogs his age and no small or young in your face dogs. 😂

✨FOSTER/ADOPTER NEEDED!!✨ 4 year old Louise was in a local shelter where her time was up. 😭 She was too sweet and cute to not give her a chance to know what love is all about, so we took her in. She rode quietly in her crate, walks great on the leash, was not reactive to other dogs, and appears to be house trained. 👏🏼 Louise is a little shy when introduced to new things but warms up quickly. 🥰 The vet staff said she was an absolute sweetheart. 🤍
