I was buying a pair of baby blue tegus from Rose City Reptiles and waiting to ship them when they acquired Hector's collection.
They offered me the chance to get an additional high white female from Hector's stock. Unfortunately I was housing the trio together when guberty hit and my male tore off her tail. I barely got them separated before he tried to do the same to my other female. This gal from Hector is the most outgoing. At grub time though, you better be sharp. My male will stalk back in the shadows and overgrowth in his pen and dart out at seeming light speed. Again, I don't tame them myself. With modest effort blue tegus are very tractable. I simply don't make the time. With patience most reptiles seem to come around on their own.

Some cherry heads.

More C bakeri from Utila Island. My pair came from Rose City Reptiles. He's resisting my greens after getting banana treats for a few days.

These Utila Island Iguanas actually do come from Utila Island with a much, much higher degree of certainty than some boa projects. 😳 Utila Island is the only place you can find.them in the wild. They are super friendly and I love that blue color. Reminds me of the cyclura iguanas.

C. Pectinata from Kyle's reptiles. These are still a bit skittish. I don't tame lizards. I let them come to me as they wish. Of 4 this is the only one who doesn't run for her hide box when I enter their pen. They will come around this summer most likely.

Friends,

I have not produced boa for two years and doubt I will this year. I know many have emailed or messaged and gotten no response.

Let me explain. I've spent the last year making corrections to the consequences that stem from a massive hole of neglect that permeated much of my life during a long stretch of failure to make peace with a medication for nerve pain due to swollen disks in my lower back. I was taking a medication for nerve pain that is also used to treat depression, an issue I fortunately do not have. I'm finally off of that medication and have something that is working. I do not take pain killers.

I planned to produce a few boa this season but the last few weeks have positioned me potentially in a much larger fight, possibly for my very life. The details aren't public fodder for now and I would like to keep it that way. I have no solid answers myself at this point.

Locality boa keepers are a small community. I plan to one day engage again but for now please understand if I'm unresponsive to attempts to communicate.

Thanks,

Tommy Carpenter

30 years ago I met Bryan and Lori. We were all little more than kids. All so young and passionate about herpetoculture. Buying and trading colubrids at the local shows, they were always genuine and sincere.

Brian and Lori took their passion to great heights and inspired herpers all over the globe.

You will be missed old friend.

Goodbye is not the end, but the start of a new beginning. We love you, Brian. Subscribe To My Linktree: https://linktr.ee/brianbarczykBecome A Y...
