CHEW Dog Rescue is a charitable 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization operating in the Gig Harbor, Washington area. We rescue dogs that are abandoned and, in particular, dogs that are in danger of being euthanized due to shelter overcrowding. CHEW was organized in 2006 to advocate for the establishment of a 30–40 acre fenced off-leash dog park in the Gig Harbor area. We also promote responsible dog o

wnership by facilitating and promoting speaker presentations that include canine health and behavioral topics. We are now a group dedicated to rescuing abandoned dogs, and other dogs in need of help.

The Lovables have turned 5 weeks old. They had a morning of socialization and are pooped from the encounter. Their personalities are starting to emerge with some surprises. The runt; Lyka (green collar) has taken to wrestling with her bigger brothers, Luca (orange collar) and Lowen (yellow collar). Also little Lyka looks to have a fluffier coat than the rest. Next week is first puppy shots and at 6 weeks of age, we will start taking applications. Which pup is your favorite?

Another happy little girl going to her forever home! Misty, who is now Ms Emme is going to have a fantastic life with Alisa & Mark. They also have a little dog that Ms Emme played with last weekend. Her human parents both work from home and she has her fur Brother to play with. We are super happy for Ms Emme and we know she’ll have a wonderful life. 💗

Coffee, who is now Penny was adopted by Wendy and Mark today. As you can see Penny is already providing kisses to Wendy. Penny never left Wendy’s lap last weekend when they met. Wendy is a runner, so Penny will be going on a lot of runs in the near future. She just needs her spay sutures to heal, hence the bandage! Have a wonderful life Penny as we know you will. ❤️

Wanted to catch you all up on LACEY & her LOVABLES. Currently at 3 weeks of age, Mom and pups have survived their bout of Kennel Cough. Mom, LACEY was a stray on the streets with no known medical care. Vaccinations do save dogs lives. The pups are growing tho they will be small dogs and have just opened their eyes. The 2 biggest pups, Lexie and Luca, sister and brother seem to have whiter coats where the rest LYKA, LOVIE, LOWEN, LINDY are a buff color. They have colored coded collars on since they look so much alike. Continue to follow them here as they learn about being a pup and grow into the great dogs they are meant to be.

My sweet SEENA as my faithful campanion for 15 years has crossed the 🌈🌈🌈Rainbow Bridge. She had a full and happy life. She helped me with fostering 34 litters of puppies and help calm and show the ropes to adult foster dogs also. She never met a human she didn't like and made sure each of you went home with a bit of her white magic dust on your pants or your hands from petting her. She was my heart 💖dog and a one of a kind. I was so lucky to share her life. Rest easy my sweet girl. Your cat buddy SMOKEY JOE is waiting to welcome you.

Please welcome, LACEY & her LOVABLES. CHEW had a FOSTER willing to take in this pregnant Mom who had been abandoned on the streets. LACEY had 6 very tiny but healthy pups the very next day, 2 boys & 4 girls. LACEY (Papillion/Chiwa mix we think) is very thin at 10 lbs. and will receive excellent care, nutrition and vet care as well as her pups thru CHEW. Consider becoming a FOSTER , so CHEW can SAVE more dogs like LACEY. Foster applications at www.chewdogrescue.org. Pups names for the boys; LUCA & LOWEN , the girls; LEXIE, LINDY, LYKA and the tiniest one LOVIE. Looking for FOSTERS so we can save these dogs. First is MISTY, a female Papillon mix,11 months old, 8 lbs. Next is JESSE, a male Chi/Pug mix, 7 yrs young,15 lbs. Lastly is PEANUT (tan dog), a male Terrier/Pug mix, one year old, 15 lbs. These dogs are waiting in a shelter for a 2nd chance at a better life or an uncertain future. CHEW will mentor you, give you all the support and equipment you will need to foster and pays for all medical appointments. Vet is in Gig Harbor so works best if FOSTER is from the surrounding communiuty. Applications can be found at www.chewdogrescue.org. PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN, THE NEED FOR FOSTERS IS URGENT. Have you ever thought about fostering? There are so many rewards that come with helping dogs in need of a home and the need is great. Danni's Darlings are 2 months old and looking for their forever homes. Pups need someone home to continue their socialization and training. These will be small dogs about 15 lbs. Applications at www.chewdogrescue.org. (Dovie is pending adoption).

Danni's Darlings are ready for adoption! All are females, terrier mix weighing about 2 lbs. and will probably weigh up to 15 lbs. when grown. Adoption applications can be found on our website at ChewDogRescue.org/adopt
