Little zluna has found her space. She was missing in her bed. I found her adjusting the blanket on the big dog bed. Afternoon naps are big around here!

Meet Leona. Leona came from the same owners as Luna, previously posted. Leona is 15 yrs young. Matted hair, horribly long nails, rotten teeth and blind in at least one eye. Leona is a rather feisty miss. Pick her up and she tries to have your arm for lunch! Let her wander and she is a happy camper. She is getting a little better each day. Her nails were curled into her pads and we are sure they made walking painful.

One of our latest littles. This is Luna an owner surrender from Dallas, TX. She weighs in at 4 lbs and is skin and bones. Luna is a little sweetheart. She is 16 yrs young, likes venturing outside and sleeping in her bed.

Baby Girl is 13 yrs old and so tired and frail. Not many more sun shiny days for her. A sweet old lady that takes short walks and long naps.

💔 HOMELESS for Six Months 💔 Percy Piglet is deteriorating in the shelter environment.

Percy Piglet is a five-year-old Great Dane/mix that wants nothing more than your love and attention. It is heartbreaking to watch Piglet decline in the shelter environment, and we desperately need an adopter to step up and give him a chance. Piglet is housetrained, affectionate, but can be a little shy and would like to meet everyone in your family to ensure it's a perfect fit.

Running a senior rescue, we have seen a lot pass over the bridge. Our hardest one will be tomorrow. Sasha, a 9 yr old, came to us from a shelter in OK 4 yrs ago, after the owner surrendered her and her older friend Baby Girl. They had lived been living outside. 2 weeks ago she started slowing down. Nothing obvious just not quite right. She was gaining a little weight but she was a healthy eater. Last Thursday she quit eating. A little here and there. By Sunday she couldn't stand without help. I just had a bad feeling taking her to the vet. Her blood work showed all her numbers were way high or low. She was in kidney failure. I wasn't ready to say goodbye and brought her home, giving her fluids, and upset stomach meds. I have scrambled her eggs she loves them and gobbles them up. I lay with her and sing to her but I know she is ready. I don't want her on pain. Say a little prayer for us both tomorrow. She is so young to be at this point.

Happy Holidays everyone from all of us at Jade's Mission. Poppie is our resident senior, senior. She isn't feeling well and this may be her last Christmas so she is spending lots of time with mom. Poppie is 19 yrs old, she came to Jade's Mission with her sister, Tulip. Poppie and Tulip were left at a shelter to be euthanized. Neither were very socialable but overall healthy. Tulip was with us 3 years before she passed away. Poppie has been with us 5 years now. Mostly she stays to herself and likes sleeping in her kennel with no blankets. Mom often puts blankets in her kennel and she promptly works until she gets it pushed out the door! Now that she isn't feeling well she doesn't mind being held and wrapped in a blanket. She is a grouchy sweetheart, but we so glad she is accepting of the cuddles in what we feel are her last days.

Lady enjoying the final days of summer. She loves staying outside even when a little chilly. Lady has only one eye and was always overlooked in a shelter. She is a very calm sweetheart. Thank you Kristina Bridges for saving her.

Today we said goodbye Warwick. He came from Dallas, TX and was blind, skinny, deaf and in kidney failure. He was a sweetheart. I love the little blind ones. They are so good at just sitting outside with the wind in their face. Fly free baby.
