Billy Walks is a dog walking and pet sitting service based in South Manchester, roughly covering Hulme, Whalley Range, Chorlton, Didsbury. Having spent much of my life around animals, mainly dogs (and horses in my younger years), the opportunity arose a few years ago to swap by office job for a career in dog walking and pet sitting. This really was, and still is, a dream come true! That “Monday fe

eling”? I’ve never had it as a dog walker, as Mondays mean the start of a new week of going out and having fun with my four-legged friends! The name of the service came about when a client commented that their dog “always looked forward to his Billy Walks”. Billy Walks are fun and varied; would you like to walk the same route and do the same thing every day? Although time and distance wise we are limited to walk locations in the South Manchester area, dogs are walked as much as possible in different locations, be it Turn Moss, Chorlton meadows or Chorlton Water Park. And within that area there are lots of different routes to take as well. I’ve been walking dogs in the area for almost 12 years now and I still discover new little paths! Having a background in agility and obedience training, I use my skills to bring something extra to the walks as well, by using fallen trees and park benches as agility equipment and places where yummy treats hide. This kind of “training” is not about imposing a strict regime with a goal to drill your dog into becoming an agility or obedience star; it’s all about having fun! Most dogs love trying new things and figuring out what they have to do to get a treat, and besides physical exercise they’ll also exercise their brains during their walk. Of course there are dogs who are not interested and just want a quiet mooch, and that is fine too. And for some dogs a walk isn’t a walk if it doesn’t include chasing a ball, so balls and other toys come out on most walks, although I do try and get them interested in other activities too. Billy Walks is now fully booked, but an announcement will be made on this page if any spaces become available - so please keep checking if you’re interested!

Another fun-filled, busy day for the Bill Walks Crew! Betty, Elsie, Bruce, Jenny, Sherman and Daphne did a sniffari.
Boomer joined Rufus, Marnie and Stan on their afternoon walk, and when Boomer joins them it can only mean one thing: hold on to whatever you've got, because chances are that Boomer wants it! 😄 It's all on friendly terms though; the crew are all good friends! 😍

Elsie and Boomer did zoomies around Rufus, who was enjoying a quiet lie down and a bit of a roll. Elsie noticed something underneath Rufus that she wanted and she sure wasn't going to wait until he had finished rolling on it! Oh Elsie! 🤣🤣❤

It's busy times for Billy Walks! The crew is out in force and making the most of the lovely weather ☀️😎
First up were Bruce, Neko, Lyra, Jenny, Sherman and Daphne. We went to Sale Ees and had a stroll along the river. Lyra somehow always gets very clumsy when she's near water; she just falls in! 😂
Daphne on the other hand didn't want to have anything to do with the "wet stuff"; she didn't even want to go anywhere near it and even turned her back!
Next up were Boomer, Betty, Elsie, Marnie and Rufus. Yes, it was Boston-mania once again! 😄They don't stop rolling, squabbling over big sticks (even though there are plenty for everyone, and then some!) and doing zoomies! Betty fell in the river and blamed Boomer - who said he had nothing to do with it! 😆
Boomer and Elsie then went off and had a good wallow in the stinkiest, muddiest bog going 🤢 They both denied any "wrongdoing" but the sight and smell of them didn't lie!
Rufus had had a busy day the day before and really couldn't be doing with running and zoomies; he found a comfy spot and lay down to watch - front row seat! No problem, Elsie and Boomer just did zoomies around him! 🤣
This crew, they're a laugh a minute! 🤣🤣

Once again, the Billy Walks Crew was out in force! The temperature has cooled down quite a bit, which makes for much better outdoor fun and games time 😃 Sadly, the idea of a holiday romance between Bruce and Daphne was short-lived; they've decided to remain friends though! 😍
The afternoon crew loves a swim, whether it's hot or not - Marnie still tries to have a quiet paddle without being seen. She forgets that suddenly appearing wet is kind of a giveaway! 😄
Rufus was well up for swimming and ball games and gave Stan a good run for his money - as did Marnie, who manages to get the ball by just standing back and waiting for it to drop - clever clogs!
All in all lots of laughs and good times with the Best Crew In The World!

The little crew has a temporary crew member: Daphne is holidaying at the "Costa Del Sale" and is joining us on our walks. She also joined us while on holiday last year and slotted back in like she'd never been away! Bruce looked smitten with her; would there be a holiday romance on the cards? Time will tell! 😍

In the afternoon, the Boston trio came together and when they do there's only one game that lasts the whole walk: the "battle" for the stick - usually one that's many times the size of a Boston, the bigger the better! Betty battled tactically and anchored herself on the ground (clever Betty! 😄). Boomer threw in his energy and will power and Elsie went for the surprise element, dipping in and out of the game as she felt like it. Marnie appointed herself as referee - to whom no one listened! 😆 In the end it was Boomer who won the last battle, but his victory lap was cut rather short when he got stuck between two trees! 😂The Billy Walks crew is full of fun and a laugh a minute! 🤣🤣

The sun took a day off, which made for a much cooler day for the Billy Walks crew. The little ones, Jenny and Sherman, went to Longford Park, a firm favourite, and had a very intense sniffari - and of course treats were found too! 😄
Marnie, Rufus and Stan went to Stretford Meadows; we'd not been there in ages due to the absence of water to cool down in (Stan knows of a very, very muddy ditch, but even that might well have dried up now. We didn't venture anywhere near it so he could find out! 😄). There was lots of catching up on smells and Rufus was hopeful of picking a few blackberries, but the highlight of their walk was the ball! Stan wasn't really on his game and both Marnie and Rufus picked up on this. Snooze and you lose, Stan!

The little and the afternoon crew came together for an early walk, before it would become too hot. We had a relaxed pootle to the lake at Sale Water Park where everyone enjoyed a swim and a paddle. Phewww! It's been hotter than the inside of a dog biscuit oven these last few days! The Billy Walks crew kindly agreed to getting up early to have breakfast rather than lunch time walks, slowing down and making good use of their excellent noses during walks in the shade. We had a stop by the river so that everyone could have a drink, a paddle or a swim before leisurely ambling back through shady woodland. And the most exciting thing: when you walk slowly enough and use your nose, you'll find that the trees are sprouting sausages! What a treat! 😋😄❤
