Today we welcomed Buddy to the family 💕

What a stunner 😍

Buddy is only around 5 weeks old and is a Staffy. He came into rescue after a concerned member of the public got involved, for his own safety, from an undesirable situation.

Buddy is safe now and will be under our care to receive lots of love ❤️

Keep an eye on the page for Buddy pupdates and we will be looking for his forever home 🏡 once he has been fully assessed and is a little older.

What a difference a month makes - Marvin arrived weighing only 9kgs, extremely thin and neglected. Now look at him!

Marvin is a staffy cross, around 7 months old.

Thank you ❤️

A huge thank you to everyone who has sent a donation to help towards the vet and kennel costs we posted yesterday ❤️

We have raised an amazing £318 so far. £52 of that will cover the vet bill we needed to pay before they took further action, and the rest we will put towards Peggy's kennel costs.

We still have around £1100 to find to clear Peggy's old kennel costs, before the next bill arrives but at least we have some towards it now 🙏

Peggy is the only dog we have in emergency kennels due to her specific requirements. She has been in kennels practically her whole life and in reality, will probably be there her whole life as she needs a very special home 🏡 which unfortunately we have yet to find 💔

The kennels she is at, are amazing and have even built her, her own little house. How amazing is this boarding kennels to have done such a kind thing for Peggy 💕 She has built up the most amazing bond with her carers and she is very happy there but unfortunately it does mean we have a lifelong cost to pay as they are a business and not an adopted home. The cost is a small price to pay because otherwise the only alternative would be the unthinkable 😢

We will always pray & hope 🙏 that one day a very special person will spot Peggy and have the perfect set up for her so she can finally find a place to call home 🏡 Until then we really would love to keep her where she is but the monthly cost cripples us.

Not how we hoped to end the week 😩

We are struggling so much with trying to clear old vet & kennel bills 😪 and then we get emails like the one below.

As we manage to pay one, more & more come through. We simply cannot continue this way.

The cost of living crisis in the UK is causing so much distress to everyone and small rescues like ourselves are feeling it too. The dogs are the ones who will suffer from the dire situation our country is facing but there is literally nothing that any of us can do.

The pounds are already putting young, healthy dogs to sleep because there's no rescue space and the last couple of weeks has seen some rescues closing for good, which is only going to add more stress.

When will it all end.....💔

We know times are tough for everyone and we hate asking in such difficult times but if anyone is able to spare a couple of pounds to help us start paying off these bills, we would feel truly blessed 🙌

💛 Marvin update 💛

Marvin has been seen again by the specialist. His condition could still be neurological but they are thinking it might be spinal.

He needs to have blood tests to check for infection. He will also be having a bone tap to take samples from his elbows. This will be followed by a CT scan on his elbows and an MRI on his back end 😞

Poor Marvin 💔 He has a lot to endure in the coming weeks.

Adopted PADDY pupdate 🐶

This handsome hunk is Paddy. He was adopted in 2020 after being with Last Hope Rescue since 2017 when he arrived after he was due to be PTS.

He was only 4 years old back in 2017 so we offered him a rescue space as he deserved a chance at life 🩵

He has spent 4 amazingly happy years with his adopted family and look how happy he is 😃 He is well & truly an honorary member of the family and he is adored & loved by all who know him ❤️

He's a senior lad now but he's still very handsome 🥰

A big thank you to his family for giving him a wonderful life. We couldn't have hoped for a better home for him.

🛑 Admin Volunteers Wanted 🛑

We are a small, independent rescue who rely solely on Volunteers and public donations.

We are struggling to keep on top of admin when it comes to rehoming dogs. For example; preparing foster & adoption contracts, submitting homecheck requests, speaking to potential adopters/foster applicants.

The main priority at the moment is that our current website will shortly be closed and we will need a new one created for us and maintained. None of our current Volunteers are able to create a website or have the time to maintain this. We would love a new tech savvy member who could help us with these types of things 🙏

If you have a few hours to spare each week and would love to become involved in animal rescue, from the comfort of your own home, please get in touch.

GOTCHA Betty 😍

Some of you may remember the pretty little frenchie, Betty, who joined us from a stray pound after serving her 7 days and no owner coming forward, back in 2023.

She pawed her way into a foster 🏡 pretty quickly and soon formed such a loving bond with the resident dog, that she never left 😊

Fast forward to now and it's official - Betty has now been adopted by her foster family ❤️

Whoop whoop 🙌

As ever, her bond with her fur sibling has not deteriorated. As you can see, Betty knows no concept of personal space 🤣 Wherever 1 is, the other is not far behind (or on top!) Haha

Thank you to her amazing family. We are delighted for you all and Betty has certainly found her happy ever after 😘

Sweet Ivy is unfortunately still not having an easy time of life 😢

After being rescued from a suspected dog fighting ring, she has been in our care ever since.

She has made significant progress in respect of her health but just recently she has started to have fainting episodes. She has been back to the vets for tests and her current bill is £500.

She now has to wear an ECG jacket for monitoring her heart ❤️ to help the vet understand what is going on in her body.

Please send love for Ivy and let's hope her condition can be identified so she can receive the treatment to cure her 🙏

He is now home from the vets. His body is extremely weak and that's why he is struggling 😔 He has meds and we are under instructions from the vet that he must rest and it's slow & steady wins the race. We always allow the dogs a full recovery period and Marvin is getting lots of TLC and we are enjoying cuddles.

We will update more as Marvin gets stronger 💪 We know he has quite the fan base from our page now and you are all rooting for him 😀

Daisy Pupdate 😍

We love seeing how dedicated our adopters are when a Last Hope Rescue dog has found their forever home 🏡

Beautiful Daisy came into our care back in 2023 having been found as a stray. Having served her 7 days in the pound and nobody coming forward to claim her, we found her an amazing home.

Daisy has recently celebrated her Gotcha Birthday 🎂 Her family even threw her a birthday party 🎈 🎊 What a lucky pooch. All Daisy's food was dog friendly.

She truly landed on her paws. She is adored and loved so much by her family and that makes our hearts 💕 very happy 😊

We have lots of dogs like Daisy who are still waiting for their happy ever afters.

Our lovely little newbie marvin has unfortunately taken a turn for the worse and has been admitted into the vets. vet stating it’s 50/50. He is currently receiving IV fluids and meds, blood work and other test currently being carried out.

we desperately need your help to be able to give him the best care for the best chance of survival.

please everyone say a prayer for marvin he came into rescue recently abused/neglected as you can see from the picture and previous posts. marvin was always going to be at a disadvantage as he little body is so thin and unhealthy, but he still deserves the best chance.

Please welcome Marvin to Last Hope Rescue

This sweet, young crossbreed was surrendered to rescue last night.

We don't know his history but it is evident he needs lots of TLC 😔

He weighs just 9kgs, has urine burns and his nails are so discoloured, they are yellow.

He has been seen by vet today and our main focus now is to put some weight on him. He will need to have an xray ad all 4 legs are bad. As you can see, the front leg is deformed 💔

He will remain in rescue, under assessment for a period of time so we can work out what kind of home 🏡 he will be looking for.

American Bulldog x Staffie 🐶

All pups had a trip to the vets this week for their first vaccination and microchips. They have been estimated as being 10 weeks old on the 31st July.

They had such a lovely time at the vets and all were more than happy for a little photo shoot. They all behaved and enjoyed lots of cuddles & kisses by the vet staff.

Beth and Saka have been reserved so we are no longer posting them. All the other siblings are still searching for their forever homes 🏡
