Hector had a good life with his amazing mum, who despite the challenges, took Hector into her home and showed him there is someone for every dog ๐
Hector wasn't an easy dog but he was a blessing to know and was loved by everyone who knew him. He was, and always will be, a part of the Last Hope family ๐พ
We are so grateful that Hector found love with his forever human. Somebody who understood him and accepted him for who he was ๐ฉต Hector grew old, surrounded by love & compassion. He told his mum when he was ready to go.
He will remain in our hearts and thoughts for always โฅ๏ธ

Update 13/3 - With the deepest sadness we wanted to let everybody know that Bracken has made his way to the ๐ bridge.
Following long conversations with our vet and the referral neurologist, factored with the extreme pain Bracken was in (even methodone didnt stop his screams), the hardest decision was made to let Bracken fall asleep peacefully surrounded by those who loved him.
Bracken was a senior dog (10+) and his prognosis was bleak. Given his age, it was not felt that subjecting him to surgery to try to remove the tumour would have delivered a different outcome or have been in his best interest ๐ช With a high chance of him not surviving the anaesthetic.
Our decision was not taken lightly ๐
We are so grateful to everybody for their kind donations. We still need to pay the bill and would like to get Bracken back home with us but we understand if people want their donation back. Please message us directly if you want the money returned to you.
Just when you think things can't get any worse.....๐ฉ
This afternoon we have received an emergency call from the foster family caring for Last Hope dog, Bracken.
5 years Bracken was missing after having been sold on by the family who were supposed to be fostering him. We never gave up on finding him. He was reunited with us after a kind stranger found him straying in the street back in 2022, and took him to a vet so they could scan his microchip.
Today Bracken needs us again ๐ข As you can see, he has lost the use of his back legs. This came on very suddenly and we are currently on route to collect him and get him to our own vets for his best chance of survival.
The cost is going to be huge as by the time our transport reaches our vets we will be charged out of hours charges.
We didn't give up on Bracken for 5 long years when he was missing and we will not give up on him now ๐
Bracken is our baby boy and we are all absolutely distraught.
