All of us desperately need foster homes!

Everything is provided to our foster homes, all you have to do is treat them as if they’re your own and help them prepare them to off to their new family’s!

Lots of people ask if they can foster if they work full time. The answer is yes, dogs sleep on average 14 hours a day so will likely just sleep while you’re at work!

Please reach out today for a foster application, we don’t have room to keep taking in and helping dogs without foster homes. So help us to help them!

Howard is starting to look for his forever home. This cute little ball of fluff is one of Penny’s puppies who were rescued from the northern reserve. Penny is a shepherd mix but we are unsure of what dad is. Howard is 7 weeks old and will be available to go to a foster-adopt family starting September 18th. Don’t let his cuteness fool you, the second he wakes up he will be yapping about something. Howard will be sure to let you know if he doesn’t like something lol. Although Howard can be very vocal he is the cuddliest of the bunch.

Howards adoption fee is $550 it includes all his vaccines, microchip and to get fixed.

Leonard is starting to look for his forever home. This cute little ball of fluff is one of Penny’s puppies who were rescued from the northern reserve. Penny is a shepherd mix but we are unsure of what dad is. Leonard is 7 weeks old and will be available to go to a foster-adopt family starting September 18th. Leonard is pretty happy to do whatever, he will wrestle around with the other pups or entertain himself playing with a toy.

Bernadette is starting to look for her forever home. This little baby is one of Penny’s puppies who were rescued from the northern reserve. Penny is a shepherd mix but we are unsure of what dad is. Little Sheldon is starting to look for his forever home. This cute little ball of fluff is one of Penny’s puppies who were rescued from the northern reserve. We want to give a huge thank you to The Ontario SPCA and Humane Society for their donation of dog food.

Rescues right now are overflowing their is so many animals currently in need, not having to worry about how we are going to feed the animals in care takes a lot of stress off us! This way we can put the money towards get bills and other much needed supplies.

We would like to also say a huge thanks to Patti Boston for taking the long drive and delivering the food to us ❤️

Ginny, Ron and Charlie are all still seeking foster homes! Not able to foster but have a few spare hours? These guys would love to get out on an adventure!

We are looking for people who would be interested in taking these guys out for adventures to help bring them out of their shells! Whether it’s a walk to the park, a hike in the bush or even hanging out in the backyard playing with toys these guys could benefit from getting out! We can sign volunteer hours for highs school students but for this must be 16+

Zoey is looking for a foster home to be able to come into care! Zoey was abandoned in a hotel room about a month ago she was left in there for at least a few days until a caring citizen saved her, they have done great work with her but unfortunately are now relocating for college and unable to bring her with them. Here is what we do know.

Zoey is great with all people, she can be a little bit shy at first but has shown no aggression. Zoey is house trained! She is good with other dogs off leash but is reactive to other dogs while she’s on a walk. Zoey has a high prey drive so will need a home without cats!

‼️Urgent foster needed‼️

Ginny is an 11 month old boxer/ shepherd mix who was living under a deck in garden river. She lacks socialization and can still be a bit nervous but once she warms up to you in a cuddle bug.

✅good with kids
✅doing well with leash training
✅crate trained
✅house trained (has had one accident)
✅good with other dogs
⚠️never tested around cats

Ginny will run around and play with other dogs all day but unfortunately Ginny has had 2 incidents where she has shown some resource guarding of people towards other dogs. This can be common in dogs who have never been giving love/affection before. Now that she knows what love is she doesn’t want to share it. We are looking for a foster home who can help us work with her to overcome this! We will be working with a trainer aswell.

Looking for foster or foster-adopt home. Even just a weekend foster would be great!

Charlie is an 11 month old boxer/shepherd mix who came from Garden River where he was living outside. This big boy is great with other dogs. He is still a little skittish around people but has come such a far way since coming into care. Although nervous Charlie doesn’t have a mean bone in his body and just needs to be shown some love. Charlie has even started to learn how to walk on a leash, and will sleep in his crate for throughout the night with only the odd bark. He is said to be good with cats but we haven’t tested this since coming into care. Charlie does require a fenced in backyard for the time being until he learns to fully trust people!

We are urgently looking for foster homes! We currently need fosters for Adult dogs, puppies, and moms with babies.

Lots of people tell us they can’t foster because they get too attached. Lots of our fosters do fall in love and shed a tear or two when their foster dog goes to a new home, but we wouldn’t be able to rescue or take in anymore dogs if it weren’t for foster homes. As hard as it may be to let your foster dog go it also feels good knowing you were apart of their rescue journey and one more dog was kept out of a shelter because of you.

Looking for a foster or foster-adopt home

Molly is a 3.5 year old boxer mix who came to us with the group from garden river. She is the mom to Harry, Ron, Hermine, Ginny and Charlie. Molly is the sweetest girl and just wants all the love ❤️ She gets along great with other dogs, Molly was said to be good around cats but this has not been tested since being in our care.

Whip (cream colored) is a male. Trixie(black) female. They are both unfixed. They are good with other dogs, cats and kids. Both of them are very friendly.

Most of you guys probably recognize this face, Charlie is one of the dogs we recently rescued from garden river. He is also the one who made an escape from his foster home. Charlie had been living under a deck with his sister Ginny and had little to no human contact. Since coming into care he has come a very far way and is learning how to be a dog! He is even doing great walking on a leash. Charlie is good with other dogs. He is said to be good with cats but it’s untested since being in care.

He is looking for a foster home, Charlie does require somewhere with a fenced in backyard since he can still be skittish and could be a flight risk if he gets loose. Although Charlie is under socialized he doesn’t have a mean bone in his body, and once he know you won’t hurt him he just wants all the love!

If you have space and time to give this boy what he needs please consider fostering Charlie ❤️

Penny had a great time at our meet and greet event on Saturday! She is a 10 month old shepherd mix who was flown in from a northern reserve with her puppies Sheldon, Howard, Leonard and Bernadette. Penny is the sweetest girl who loves attention, she is great with other dogs! Penny is house trained and can be left alone without being destructive. She does need some work walking on a leash but is doing great with a halti! Penny doesn’t know her name yet but is a smart girl and tends to stick around when she is outside.

Penny will be available for adoption once her pups are weaned and she is fixed!

Introducing Harry ,he is apart of the group of dogs we recently took in from Garden River. Harry is an approximate 8-10 week old boxer/shepherd mix. He is looking for a foster or foster-adopt family.Harry was born outside with his littermates Ron and Hermine, and has never known the inside life before coming into care. This is Mukwa, the starving mom with her one pup we had taken into the rescue a few weeks back. She has gained lots of weight and is looking great! Mukwa is a 2 year old shepherd mix who will be ready to go to a foster or foster- adopt home as early as September 9th. She is good with other dogs off leash, but can be reactive when meeting new dogs on a leash. Mukwa would do best in a home without cats, she tends to not want to leave them alone. Mukwa is great with kids, she’s house trained and non destructive when left alone.

Introducing Ron, he is apart of the group of dogs we recently took in from Garden River. Ron is an approximate 8-10 week old boxer/shepherd mix. He is looking for a foster or foster-adopt family. Ron was born outside with his littermates Harry and Hermine, and has never known the inside life before coming into care. Looking for a foster home.
She is a 2 year old who is said to be a Pomeranian mix, there has been a “breeder” in the sault who was breeding “Pomskys” we are thinking this may be where she originally came from. She is good with other dogs but can have some resource guarding when it comes to food. She currently lives with cats and is fine with them. She is good with kids but can be jumpy sometimes so a home without small kids is recommended.

These two are looking for a foster or forever home!

Bert and Ernie were the best boys at our meet and greet event today. They are 4 month old mastiff mixes who are in search of their forever homes. These two guys are very cuddly and love other dogs. Bert (darker one) is more of a laid back kinda guy, Ernie is an adventurous guy who will be sure to keep you on your toes. These two pups are fully crate trained and sleep through the night, they have been working on house training and coming along fairly well.
Bert and Ernie have an appointment to be fixed September 10th.

Update: Adopted

We can’t believe Oakley is still available. He came to us a little while ago from a home where he was living tied up outside. He is a 3 year old male shepherd mix. Oakley is the sweetest guy and loves everyone, we also have yet to meet a dog he doesn’t get along with. Oakley does chase cats but we think he has the potential to become friends with them if them if someone put a little work in. Oakley is non destructive when left alone. Oakley can be a runner if you aren’t giving him enough attention or accidentally leave the door open, although he never goes far just tends to bring himself on a little walk.

Oakley is fixed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. If interested in Oakley please send us a message for an application
