Angel
We noticed something a couple weeks ago about Angel. She’s got a liver colored nose… which means that Max cannot be her father. This explains a lot. Angel was the smallest one in her litter, and that’s most likely because either Stan Lee or Loki slip tied with her days after Max got her, and that makes Angel a bit younger in development than her littermates. We know she didn’t tie with anyone other than Max, but obviously there was a slip tie. Well… Loki is the only one of our dogs that will “wave” to us, and now Angel has shown us that she has this talent. Coincidence?…. I think not.

Juliet, Emma, and Millie
We are so proud of Juliet. She had really bad diarrhea right after Millie and Emma came here, and to be on the safe side we quarantined her to the shop with these two pups. She really wants to go back to the house, it’s been three weeks already, but she’s taking the quarantine like a champ. We keep Juliet in a separate kennel but she’s pretty much adopted these little girls as her own. In more than one occasion, she’s given her treat that we just gave her to one of the pups. So far Juliet hasn’t shown any signs of the kennel cough, or the diarrhea since she came to the shop, so we hope that doesn’t change.
By the way, dachshunds really like side by side rides. 😉

If you poked Pepper or Noel with a pin right now, I think they’d pop like a balloon. Noel was due yesterday, and Pepper is due tomorrow. Anyone care to guess how many these mommas will have? I got a lot of good guesses on Pepper when I asked last weekend. Do y’all think Noel will share her dapple with us this time? And how about Peppers brindle?

I’ve found myself in the middle of a moral dilemma. I had no idea what I was getting myself into or who I was ultimately dealing with. I really should have did more research, but it’s too late for that now…. This transaction started three years ago before these mommas were rehomed to the new owners, and the original owner I was dealing with was what I’d call a smaller breeder. I did a bit of research tonight, and I’m horrified by what I found. I’m always preaching about not supporting puppy mills, but I’m afraid I unintentionally did just that. I’m just sick. Ignorance is no excuse, but I really didn’t know.
