P.S. yes I’m okay, I just had to have a small non-invasive procedure but unfortunately I do not react very well to anesthesia and ended up with a migraine. Which might have also been due to sleep deprivation and dehydration. I’ve been a little run down lately but doing my best to hang in there!

Now this is the baby that has and will get me called a liar when I say it has no Lily white in it. There is literally no possibility of it being a lily white unless the gene spontaneously appeared. Both parents are non-Lily whites and their parents were not Lily whites. I own the maternal grandparents and dam of this baby. The mom looked very similar as a baby, but she is out of Raven x Rime and neither of them are Lily whites as they both come from very well-known lines. Obsessed. When this one hatched, i initially pegged it as my least favorite of the bunch because it was more plain than the siblings. However, sometimes the more plain babies have the most potential to knock your socks off when one day you open their bin and they look like a different gecko. This one had me comparing hatchling pics to make sure I didn’t mix geckos up. But sure enough, same gecko but with bright pink pattern and little drips and white spots!

I have used the same staple CGD for years. I will say that since adding different brands to the rotation, I have seen significantly better growth rates, fewer fail to thrives, better egg production and fewer eggs going bad, and my juveniles have a better appetite for live food. I mean SIGNIFICANTLY better growth rates.

I don’t think any one brand of food is necessarily bad. However, remember that living things need a varied diet to thrive.

The Crested Closet focuses on Crested Geckos because of their diversity, their relatively simple care, and the thrill of producing something completely unexpected, though we do keep other species simply as pets (for now).

We do not keep a large number of geckos, as we pride ourselves on breeding quality over quantity. We focus primarily on high-contrast individuals with a high amount of white and cream.
