What a cutie

🐴 Phoenix…..rising from the ashes

Little Welsh X mare, Phoenix was confiscated from her previous owners who were not taking proper care of her. She was severely under nourished, with protruding ribs and hip bones.

But like all of these cases, she has made a remarkable recovery under the care of the dedicated team at the Horse Care Unit. With plenty of good food, clean water and a warm shelter, this sweet girl has started to shine.

Her gentle, loving nature was evident from the start. She will make an excellent addition to any horse savvy home.

We estimate her to be around 11 years old and 12hh tall. She is extremely easy to handle and her quiet, patient nature holds the promise of an ideal child’s companion.

🐎 This little Gem is looking to light up your life!

Meet Garnet, a spunky 4 year-old Welsh pony. Garnet was brought to the Horse Cape Unit as a stray. He was never claimed and after his pound period was up, he was immediately gelded. He is now ready for a new life.

Garnet is 10 hh and he’s a friendly, outgoing guy. He loves attention and is confident around people.

He currently shares a paddock with a little pony mare.

This pretty boy will make a great companion or lead rein pony.

🚑 Azure was allegedly kicked in the face by another horse and was admitted to our sister society Swartland & West Coast SPCA with a terrible open wound.

🩺They helped Azure make a full recovery and now we're helping them to find him the forever home he deserves.

On an afternoon in August, Cape Town's busy M5 inbound lanes bore witness to a frantic horse named Flash tearing down the highway during the evening rush hour. Following his rescue, Flash received the care and attention he needed to make a full recovery and is now ready to find his forever home.
