We are a little behind on posts but are trying to catch up. About three weeks ago, we learned about 3 Miniature Bull Terriers (MBT) from the same household who needed new homes. Their owner has had a lot of changes in her life situation and has to move into her mother’s already cramped home where dog’s are not allowed. One of the three MBT’s is named Chico. Chico is a deaf, 8 year old boy, with a lot of “enthusiasm”. When we posted him, a gentleman named Terrance reached out. Terrance had previously contacted us about other older bullies we were trying to find homes for but we always had something already lined up for them. This time though, we didn’t yet and after talking with Terrance quite a bit, we felt Chico would be a great fit. Terrance has had 4 Bull Terriers including one who was also named Chico. Sadly, he lost Chico as a result of a seizure disorder at age 7. Terrance had saved Chico’s name tag all this time and it seemed quite fitting that he could pay tribute to his beloved Chico by sharing the name tag with his new boy Chico. This past Saturday, with the help of some great volunteers, Chico made his way to Terrance. He has been doing really great and has brought some bully love back into Terrance’s home and heart.
Special thanks to Holly Darmofal-Gibbs and Robb Gibbs, parents to Blue Ridge Bull Terrier Club Rescue alumnus, Fast and Goose - Adopted, for driving an hour and a half to evaluate Chico and the other two mini’s, Leslie McKinley King for fitting in Terrance’s homecheck so quickly during a very busy time and for trying to help set up the transport, Kim King Bebb, president of the Bull Terrier Club of America, for doing leg 2 of the transport even though she was on vacation and visiting family, Kasi Goodman for taking the time to do leg 3 and Terrance for bringing Chico home.
