“We have watched him grow into the most playful and happy wee dog! He’s a very friendly boy who loves his daily Lagan walks and pup cups. He also loves Donegal and all the beaches he gets to play on when he’s up there! He’d also be lost without his right hand man, his ball 🤣 when he’s not doing these things he’s cuddled up beside you and never leaves your side.
We recently had a family member that said they couldn’t imagine us without Oscar and we feel the exact same way. He’s just part of the family now!

🐾 Meet Ranunculus!

He’s a 7 week old looking for his home!

Ranunculus is a curious little guy who shows a great mix of calm and playfulness. He enjoys cuddle time with the family and then is ready for some ball chase or bone chewing. Ranunculus is calm outdoors even in downtown DC during the cherry blossom viewing. He startled once with an ambulance in the lane next to us, came close to us for reassurance, and then recovered immediately thereafter. He walks amazingly well on a leash and harness, alerts you when he needs to go potty, and is working on simple commands “sit, down, wait, with me”. Ranunculus is eager to please and is just a “lovebug”.

He’s part of a litter of 10 pups!

His siblings are:

🐾 Walks well on a leash after getting her first round of energy out.
🐾 Edith is the sweetest, most lovable hound. She loves to cuddle, sleep in your lap, on the sofa and her favorite recliner. She will also sleep in her crate, especially if there is thunder and lightning. (She is scared of storms.)
🐾 She responds best with affection and treats; she learned to sit in about 5 minutes and now runs to the kitchen when she hears the treat bag.
🐾 She needs a lot of sleep and a lot of activity. She has a tendency to bolt out the front door if given a chance. It seems like she was initially trained to run and find squirrels and other wildlife. A large, fenced backyard is a must, long walks and maybe an active family that allows her to run and chase but brings her inside for snuggles and love.
🐾 She is mostly potty trained, but still forgets to ask to go out.
🐾 She is good with all adults, children and other dogs of all sizes, but would need work to understand the cat is not her prey.

Solo has now discovered he’s capable of jumping up into our bed, and he insists on bulldozing his way in between us every night at 1am (when we’re too tired to force him down), then immediately collapses his 100lbs directly onto one of our faces. We’re hoping it’s just a teen phase, but it seems to be his favorite new ritual (not even the beef lung treats that mom hides in the bedside table can bribe him away)

Desperately need a good home for this guy. Willing to drive for the right family! Please help!! We found him on a highway in bad shape but he’s been vetted and taken care of for the last 2 months months and we desperately need a home for him. Fenced yard would be good? He loves kids and to be with people or other dogs. I don’t want to take him to a shelter but like I said I’m getting desperate at this point. Please help Boone find a good home!

We run our dogs for miles so that they are in shape for hunting season using our atv. Later that night we order pizza and drink a couple beers.

We put our dogs on birds and expect flawless perfection and them to hold steady. We get our gun out for the first time the night before season just to make sure it's clean and load it up.

We expect our dogs to retrieve to hand like it's their job. Meanwhile we miss half the birds due to us not being prepared.

You ever wonder what your dog expects of you? How ready are you for the season. This time of year everyone gets in a hurry. They have to have the best dog. We set the bar so high for so many young dogs that it's next to impossible for the dog to achieve.

If you have a young pup on their first or second season I want to encourage you to step back. Take a look at the work you have put in. Not your dog. The work you yourself have out into this upcoming season. If you expect your dog to run all day than you better be able to walk all day. When you wake up and your back is sore take a look at your dog and ask him how he's feeling. If he misses a bird and it flushes don't shoot. Watch your oup learn. Put the guns down and go for a walk. Soak it all in and let you and your dog learn together.

We get what we put in. Listen to your trainer. Be patient and watch your dog grow. The best bird dogs I've ever owned I didn't expect anything out of them on their first season. I let them be pups. I let them learn and let the birds teach them.

Joe will be amazing some day. Today he's just a pro learning how to hunt. I will enjoy every minute of it along the way.
